Just a quick note to say thanks for pulling together these podcasts. I tend to listen to them when prepping cars and for a newbie like me they are very informative.

Now if only I could find one entitled, ‘Tips and Tricks for cars that are not shifting’

Plant pots we call them .. or shed padlocks

Yea I heard that too. Doubt there will be much stock coming through though. Guessing WBAC will have to close so no UKCGR stock, dealerships are click and collect only so not sure how p/x’s will work?, will lease companies be still be sending stock through BCA? Not sure how it’s all going to pan out to be honest.

Had a lease car collected Monday and the driver said it's business as usual at all  bca branches for now says there really busy with ex lease cars .

Can you recommend where to purchase these Irish plates? I believe they are all dateless?

There's normally a good few on ebay

I'd have said £99 lol, I really don't get the "Value" on some of these plates ;)

 I've no idea how many individuals and companies think many are worth what they want either .

I'd suggest to keep it as a facelift for any 'special' future car you get where the year is best hidden -  no value for initials or a name.

Regtransfers advertised prices are pretty meaningless for accurate guidance TBH, I bought direct some of the MLZ's when DVLA first released them and sold the last in August/September - all Chinese buyers - so those with good initial combos are worth a retail punt, or even ebay where they're mostly clueless.

Number buyers aim to buy at between 33 - 45% of retail, not unfair given many can take several years to sell for proper money, so I'd suggest just keeping it.

In either event, you can easily buy reasonable 3x4 Irish plates for £30, £110 incl the £80 fee for other cars 'facelift' need/s.

Out of interest Marcus to do u still have contacts in the number plate game .

It's probably a subject for another thread. But if only Manheim had BCA''s stock? Personally, Manheim customer services and/or back office staff are always more approachable than BCA. BCA have always been shitty, back in the day I had a big fall out with them over a car. Promised myself I'd never deal with them again. But business is business and sometimes you have to 'dance with the devil'. So a few years back I restarted with them but that same sort of surly unapproachable 'treat the customers with contempt' attitude is still there. Let's be honest, the lady I spoke to  could have easily just buzzed me through to the person I needed, 10 seconds out of her busy life to keep a customer happy?

EDIT: I've just had a message from BCA customer service to say "we are able to deliver most vehicles....". Contact branch for prices? Nothing about 3 car limits? It would be nice if they could go 'definitive' on delivery requirements on the website (if anyone can point me towards any official wording I may have missed I'd be grateful). You'd think that would be a priority.

I've been the other way maybe just one of the lucky one always found bca more helpful than Manheim ..
