    Coincidence.

I’m currently going through some old paperwork. I have a purchase receipt from manheim. In 03/2006 I bought a ‘01 Picasso. Balance due £3232. That’s £3100  at the hammer, buyers fee £80, delivery (60 miles) £41, £21 vat.

£80 buyers fee! Those were the days!

07 vectra 13/5/2010 £4400 bid price total £4494 happy days

  2. Think most do I only ever seen one policy like it and that was said boss that was back in2003/2004 time so no even sure such a policy would exist now or by who it was with no on speaking terms now after a few fall outs don’t know if any insurance companies or brokers would do it now I taxed a few cars with it for the garage or I wouldn’t have believed it myself had I not seen it with my own eyes but would love a policy like that I guess you could get anything if you pay high cost he was a wealthy guy possibly a millionaire now after selling up and retiring

There a few on here worth speaking to @John Cook - Aston Lark And @Ashley@UKGlobal might be able to help you out sure there’s others here too but I’ve spoke to both of these guys personally and can vouch that both are extremely very helpful..

    Hello there Lads

Was wondering what you fellas are currently paying for your Motor Trade policy as I’m due a renewal soon and just want to see what the market is like.

currently paying £4700 with an any driver policy for trade, me and missus on for social and son 19 on for trade only.

Who u both using Ive been looking for an any driver policy on all my cars but also one that covers me to drive other cars fully comp for trade  social domestic and pleasure my old boss had one but not sure who it was with cant mind how it was worded was something like any friend relative associate employee part or full time or on a employee self employed or any person with permission of mr boss man so basically anyone on his so so could drive his cars from social business trade and personal and it it also stated he and his wife could drive any car with the owners permissions for all the above

My pleasure if we in the "trade" can't help each other nobody else will, this may help:

    https://www.theimi.org.uk/mot-quals/

For me the appeal of the IMI is they are only focused on the Motor Industry, unlike City & Guilds, BTEC and the like who are multi industry. The curriculum's are as upto date as anyone's although I think they have to give these to other bodies, the assessments are well thought out, well they were when I looked at them a few years ago.

I think they are losing relevance under the current CEO/COO and I can't see any value in retaining my membership, however this is a personal view.

Good luck and don't hesitate to PM me if you need more help.

    Thank u again .

Also if they know of any training companies in Scotland or even the uk who do it and lastly if you can offer any advice on study material for the courses it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while and think if I don’t do it soon I never will  many thanks in advance

Hi mate. I feel for you. I lost my mum from dementia in 2019. I have a dad in his 80s that was trying to care for her at home and it nearly broke him! Eventually she had to go into a care home,  which he saw as a betrayal, and was/is racked with guilt about that still.

Thank you mate .. very much appreciated yes it terrible dementia  my mates 80yr  mum has it too and it seems to affect everyone different my dad and her both act different . Maybe cause a see more of him hope your dad is doing ok and sorry for your loss of your mum . Take care

  11. Hi guys still here reading the posts thank you for the concern sorry I've not been on posting as much as id  have liked I'm doing ok . Been fairly busy more so caring for my dads ill health he is still ok and active but needs a lot of care with his alz and dementia and its really to much for my elderly mum though you would never hear her say that  but it just has to done without question as hes always done it for me  my brother and sister that was one of my reasons for scaling down a lot a few years ago as long as I make enough to pay bills now I'm happy

and think in these tough times its was  a wise decision

    hope everyone is well
