  1. You have got to ask yourself is it worth the head ache? Problem having occurred very early after purchase and him not been supplied with a courtesy car to use if he depends on it for work will all work in their favor

  2. 07551 849120. We have used him a couple of times and he is good will ring you once found the problem and give you a price usually £150-£190 and quick turn around 2 days after sending you will have it back unless it's weekend of course. Just get the cluster out well wrap it in bubble wrap and post with royal mail for next day delivery

  3. We have been out taking more pictures increasing to 50 and adverts have jumped up the ladder on the 1s we have done so far, but used to have around 30 images and plenty of information regarding vehicles and was still coming under private sellers and other dealer adverts with only a few images and not as high quality as ours:blink: so hoping they are just teething problems and will resolve in the near future as we are high rated 2019 by autotrader with over 60 5 star reviews

evening gents. just tried to tax a car with a v62 at the post, never had a problem before however... mot'd the car this morning as it had expired, I went to tax the car this afternoon but couldn't.....  when I came back to office the mot had not updated.  I thought it updated instantly on the system.

the question I am asking is, can a car be taxed with no MOT, I think the answer is no but cannot find any info on google.  which is why im assuming the tax was denied on their computer

A bit unusual as the mot instantly goes on the data base as what I found

Absolutely dead here - hardly seen a soul this month let alone sold a car! With 17 in stock we're a little low but have some great bits which I think are priced very competitively.. Hoping for an end of month pick up

Same here, don't thing this new AutoTrader search is going to help but fingers crossed

    Hello everyone,

Newbie on here - I just wanted to introduce myself, as ive been reading the forum for a while and have signed up now. A bit about me, my name is Amer and I have been trading for 9 years, have a small pitch in berkshire for 20-25 cars. I started back in 2007 and traded from home for a few years full time, things picked up well at the time so I decided to get the pitch in 2010 and increase the level cars. With that came lots of learning which im still learning on daily basis and some hardships which many of us have all faced. My main sources are bca blackbushe and on the odd occasion walsall, I also have a few from manhiem nhampton/bham aswell. My passion for cars started from a young age thanks to my father who worked in Ford factory back in the 80's, he was always buying a car on the side and repairing it/selling it so as a child I always remember being in the garage and messing about with the spanners. I guess for most of us it runs in our blood and thats what makes us passionate about the trade.

Anyways I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone on the forum, great topics and at times you all have bought a smile to my face, especially on those quiet days, I find a sense of humour makes it all better (life is to short). If I can help anyone or chip in on topics to help at least you know abit about me now ;)

    Cheers, Amer.

    Hi and welcome amer

Its funny how they can't stop messing around with it, i prefered  it when it was a simple search and not a cluttered desktop with all the advertising, i advertise across all the platforms and i must admit it ain't generating the most enquiries or even the best for me will be interesting to see what this search will do now. I can see if you don't put a lot of effort and have one of their better packages it won't be worth advertising on there any more

Agreed, don't really like the idea as It makes me think we will be attracting the most annoying customers in every way possible and not the real genuine buyers but we will wait and see

What don't you get. I don't directly purchase vehicles without a v5 however you do get the odd px with a missing v5.

Oh yes I see what you mean just got a bit confused when you said you don't buy cars without a v5, BUT aren't you actually buying the px cars? Just a bit confused

Tell them that and provide evidence that the 2004 and 2008 models differ.

Also is the car the same colour? If not point this out

You got your mid removal and add on dates. Provide these.

Your BCA invoice. If you bought it from BCA that is. If you know someone workibg there have a friendly chat see if they can dig their advert out and hopefully you can use their images?

They might keep things on file for 6 years(I might be wrong about this).

The only reason they have traced it back to us that it was on our mid at time of incident. The car is same colour but older and not a gt sport like the 1 we sold. They are looking for the driver we believe as the police must have that car which was used in incident. Will provide with all the evidence we have put together today and take it from there, they can happily contact our customer who will confirm the car he bought from us with that reg is a totally different car and he still has it and hasn't had any issue with it what so ever:)

What year would you guys say it was? Is it a gt sport?

So have they cloned the chassis number as well?

Not sure but gonna give them a call tomorrow and provide them with the images the customer has provided of the advert which clearly shows it's a total different car. What I don't get is if the police compounded that car how could we sell that vehicle?

  12. Started keeping images on laptop ever since this happened. Funny enough have found customers contact details and spoken with him he has forwarded a screenshot of the advert which he has sent to a pal via facebook and a couple of more images of the car. What I don't understand is if the police have compounded the car what was written off there is no way we could sell it as the police have that vehicle with dodgy plates.

  13. Just had an update on this and insure have been forwarded images of the car from the police report and it looks like the number plates have been cloned as the car is a total write off with the number plate which we had in stock but it's definitely not that car looks to be a 2004 2005 vw golf with 2008 number plate and also ours was a gt sport whole different front end, alloys, leathers, we sold the car 5 days later which we have provided the sale invoice to our insurers. They are asking for images of the car which we do not have and AutoTrader only keep on file for about 5 weeks once it's sold. :( planning on driving over to the customer who bought it and get a written statement off them if they can. In the images all the front end is smashed all down drivers side and airbags have deployed even the side curtain airbags and there is no way we could get all that work done and sell it within 5 days. Yes the arse holes did a hit and abondoned the car:angry: any advice guys much appreciated
