  1. Help needed on this usually never tax a car in trade but need to tax 1 and its only £10 for year will pay it in full, but only need to use car for a few days. What would need to be done after use of the car? Not bothered about any refund as its cheap. Do we keep it taxed then when selling to a punter do we re tax it in their name with new keeper section as thats what we will be using or cancel the tax we put on? Thanks in advance

Its permanent export isn't it , Ive always sent the export notice in to DVLA .

Customer wants V5 and V5 c2 , you send Export notice to DVLA to say its leaving the country .

Right or not its never been an issue , but that only to France and Southern Ireland mind , Should be same though I would have thought .

Obviously working on gumtree and motor's shows its ebay themselves they also don't like the word covid in adverts. I've come off the platform now anyway its garbage.

Right there been trying them out last 6 months and the figures are rubbish. I believe Facebook market place gets more sales but yet again auto trader is the place to be and yes they do charge a lot but it works

Why not? Its all about the intranet these last 10 years and now with the likes or carzoo or what ever the heck they are called, people don't even need to travel and I'm sure we have all had customer's cars delivered around the country without even viewing it.

  5. Hi, good luck with your new venture. I have a pal and I kid you not he sells stock up to 100k from his house his minimum stock profile is 15k and he lives in a terrace house with a drive he parks his cars. I have always wondered how he does it from home:mellow: every time I go past his house he has always got his front garden filled with top end German toys from new s3 golf rs rs3 rs4 rs5 rs6 porsche 911 range rovers svr, he recently had a mk2 supra twin turbo low mileage which he sold for 40k and last year he even had a ferrari that he sold 150k. So there's your answer

Jerry can and a syphon out the sender hatch lol:rolleyes: or trade plates and test it works till its nearly gone :)

Lol. We will take our chances. Interesting topic though because if it did come down to dealers charging for fuel im sure it wouldn't be long before the auction houses jumped on the band wagon and started charging for the fuel in the car. Wonder what op thinks about that:rolleyes:

  8. We have a car in stock which came with a full tank of petrol in it and I can assure you the customer will not get a penny off as its a cracking car with good history full mot and bonus its got a full tank. Can't ever imagine us saying oh its an extra £50 for the fuel in it

Anyone charge for the fuel in the tank.

I always make sure cars have 1/4 tank of fuel in and sometimes we get cars with 3/4 even occasional full tank.

Thinking about charging (at pump prices) for the fuel in the tank.

If I claw in on average say £15 per car and sell 20 cars a month that makes me better off by £3600 a year.

    Anybody tried this?

    How have customers reacted?

 made my day with this, good 1

When I bought this Golf GTD (2015, 66k, nice car) into stock, I though it would be a fairly straightforward sale. I deal in a fair few MX5’s and Renaulsports, which are known to attract morons, and never have a lot of trouble. This GTD though is just something else, I’ve had the tyre kickers, test pilots, finance rejects, stupid offers, wildly overvalued part ex’s, part Ex former taxis not registered in current owners name, sensible people that just disappear into thin air, and more...

I haven’t yet had your typical VW man, he’s probably next.

I didn’t think these GTD’s were known for messers, am I wrong?

The upside is it’s generating plenty of interest, so one of these will eventually convert into a sale, but it’s hard going :D

Never have issues with them to be honest, might be that you have advertised it to low and are attracting the wrong customers, maybe you need to put the price up:)

  11. So after a bit of messing about with the car today have discovered that the gear is actually working and not broken, we put power directly to the motor and the roof opens and closes but soon as you plug it back into the light panel it just seems to make a clicking noise:wacko: checked all 3 fuse boxes and all fine. Would it be a case of new light panel as it's faulty or a bad relay some where? Thanks for the input everybody much appreciated

  12. Hi guys hope you are all well and safe. Quick 1 here bought a mercedes e320 2007 with panoramic roof now before we send it off to our auto electrician is there a easy fix? Have tried the reset and pulling fuse 9 with no joy. The blind and roof won't hope just a clicking noise when pressing the button, is it a case of a new motor or is there something else to look out for? Thanks in advance
