  1. 2013 508 1.6 tdi with 83k and the EGC semi auto gear box. I have heard of the reputation of this box and till now avoided it. That all went out the window when i was desperate to sell my oldest car and here i am now with a problem. When you start the car and select either drive or reverse no gear is actually selected and you can rev the car stationary in gear. When selecting either drive or reverse a gearbox fault comes up on the dashboard and a i few "ping" noises. Now my customer came 2 times from 40 miles away to test drive and collect this car and then i drove the car trying to induce a fault and i could find nothing wrong. It selected all gears and even in manual sequential setting performed fine. There is no judder or vibration when setting off. My diag reader could not connect to car but there were no warning lights illuminated on dashboard. Anyone have any ideas as it sounds from my basic research expensive and specialist. I am in wolverhampton your experiences may lead me down the right path. I believe its actuators. E
  2. Stating the obvious .................obviously !!!!!!!
  3. only reason why i need it of is that i am in Wolverhampton and the previous owner has a ??03WBA number plate on it, (West Bromwich Albion WBA) car should be on a 60 plate so it looks really old and might put a few west mids people off from purchase
  4. i am no administrator as you can tell....................... Mark that would add a new owner ?? surely ?? or do you mean only on the retention application paperwork so DVLA think its just a house move ??
  5. Tell me is this is unethical or wrong in some way but cant i just put it on retention paying the £80 using the information i hold on the current V5 document, This means the customer who does own it will get the retention certificate and the new V5 and i at some point will see the registration change to the age related plate i am after obviously i would have to tax this vehicle also for this process again forgive me if this suggestion is wrong and obviously i wont be doing something thats seen as wrong just looking at my options
  6. I have a trade car that has come to me with a cherished plate,I am obviously not the owner of this car with this plate, Is there any way without registering it to me that i can remove the plate from the car to give it back its age related plate ?? I dont care about keeping the plate if i loose it then i dont mind just want the age plate on it
  7. I think i may have explained it wrong its not what i meant Well obviously i dont want to to pay company car tax and of course if the ltd company applies for the lease then this automatically makes it a company car and i as the employee will pay tax on it as a benefit in kind I prefer to lease it personally, Nothing to do with the ltd company its my own car on a personal lease, I can then charge my own ltd company 45 pence per mile for all business use and if i do enough miles it will pay for the monthly lease
  8. I lease a car personally through Ltd company and then use the 45p mileage allowance to make it self funding if your sole trader its not a company car its your car as your not in effect a company
  9. and yet all customers think you still have £2000 margin to allow for there £1000 discount on a £5000-6000 car
  10. Your getting it wrong its NOT buy it and add £800 margin on.............................. its as already been said Find what the marketplace says the car is going to retail for then its work out every single likely cost then minus your £800 margin and then you are left with a maximum hammer price purchase figure. doing it any other way is financial suicide, you make your money by smart purchases not smart selling
  11. What is it you have learned in your 4 years in franchise ??? you have done your apprenticeship you are now ready for the big leagues you should know all the questions you are asking its just simple regular stuff Part time .......................... good luck with making that work i dont personally see how its possible unless its on such a small scale where its not worthwhile
  12. HSBC will always send the funds to a Fraud department where the customer has the finds taken from there account and not forwarded to you, 3-4 days later they get a call and funds are then released, Santander is another Spanish bank they are never instant either
  13. no you are right they are poor nothing quality at the £10 mark, I just want that initial impression that the tailored mats give.............................6m down the line they will be ready to bin, I I use e-car-mats
  14. New tailored mats from Ebay are the best £10 i spend on a car, That and the £1.50 fresh cotton air freshener i spray 5 min before they arrive He he
  15. anything apart from bangers and trade sales have to be cleaned within an inch of there lives, Unless every single person is commenting how well looked after it is and how immaculate it is your not at the right level of valet, All used cars will have evidence of wear and tear but if you can get your car clean to such an extent that your punters are not seeing this evidence of use and wear then you are half way to a sale, If you give your customers no reason to walk then why would they, A perfectly clean car as near to "new" as is possible will give you more sales. As we know the PLC brigade use minimum wage guys and its all done in 20 min by 5 persons there is no way there clean is anywhere near mine and thats my difference at the point of sale
  16. Yes i had a fair few when it was establishing but not brought any for a while, Seems the people who buy them now are the "happy with £200 margin" brigade, They do seem to go for a lot more money than they did 2 years ago
  17. another topic on AT...................... we are all just jealous at the end of the day that there business model is Fu*%Ing Unbelievable and is generating huge profit..................... any one of us here would do exact same thing
  18. yes important to make sure you only tick permissions you need as this determines the fees, I ticked all the boxes thinking if i tick them all i know i will be covered and then had the invoice through, I amended it but what hassle
  19. Jammy git.........................I highly approve
  20. Auto Aid recovers you to a destination of your choice anywhere in UK...................... and break downs at home
  21. Dont these companys just recover you to nearest local garage............................. not good if you just took 2 trains and are 80 miles from base ?? Interested though have had a few times i needed recovery and had to uses flatbed
  22. EH just move it branch to branch they never actually sell the cars they just get rotated, you seen there advert saying they bring it to you, What a messers dream that is for them
  23. I have been on there free package for over 2 years and again suffer from the great and many inquiry that you can contact 2-3 times and never hear from them at all, I was contacted to go on there package and this was 2 weeks and not much of an improvement in anything, CG leave it optional for there customers replying to car dealers to chose to include there phone number or just provide there e-mail, Well a lead without a phone number is not really a lead is it, I questions the account manager at the end of the 2 weeks and argued that my package then is basically buying me access to leads with phone numbers IF they want to provide there phone number............................ is that the only difference the paid for package gets you??? I must admit i was seeing my cars splattered all over the place on Banner adds when searching for car parts, Clothes, Holidays, Home improvements, ect ect
