  1. Duracell And don't those Polar charging points go bang when you piss on them "if you're ever caught short"
  2. Thank you !! And I've even lit one or two of the oil filled ones up (turbo failures) They've been fine when re fitted and re-genned Trouble is there aren't many of us who actually understand them
  3. Hi, No, sorry, just tried the 3 I have, they don't recognise that. These might be able to help, although they aren't the cheapest :- http://www.mmsa.org.uk/radio_codes_for_nissan.html
  4. Give me the details and I'll try it for you
  5. Yes 3HP is as much as Single Phase will handle Mine is 3HP, 14 CFM but 200 litre Tank bought it years ago from "Brown Brothers" it's Taskmaster Brand Who is old enough to remember Brown Brothers ???????
  6. That makes no sense, if it's full it is because something else is faulty and preventing Auto Regen, so all you are doing by changing it is correcting the symptom, not the illness ......................... Another few hundred miles and the DPF will be chokka again
  7. Yes Soot Filter = DPF OK, so it hasn't done an Auto Regen, probably because there is a fault or 2 stopping it, like for example dud Flow Meter, EGR fault, DPF Pressure Sensor etc etc. If you have Snap Off, Launch, Autel or similar, you should be able to get it to do a forced regen once the fault code(s) are fixed and gone.
  8. Can't help with a Garage, but what is the issue, and what codes you getting on what equipment ? BTW you will probably struggle to find a good Volvo Indie, I do my best to avoid the bastards, deliberately will not buy a Volvo Vida Dice
  9. Arse covering nanny state red tape
  10. LOL You wouldn't say that if you saw some of my Cars over the years. That Jag does nothing for me. That said, obviously colours, chrome / no chrome / wheels etc are all personal taste, and good job we don't all like the same thing It's good that you found the right Guy for the Car
  11. Religion , ya likes what ya likes
  12. I always think Silver on a dark colour Car, Gunmetal Grey on a light colour, and Black is for pikeys and chav skanks, awful !!
  13. A customer of mine took his Merc in just after the new rules came in, (I hadn't checked it over), it failed on an oil leak !! Apparently the tester put some measuring jug under the drip................................................ drip.......................................drip and declared it was over the limits allowed = FAIL So how the hell is anyone going to get a pass on a Land Rover
  14. My MOT Guy just called in to get a Code Read on his 4x4, he is pissing himself, "Fucking twat advised that !!" was his comment However, he did say since this years new regs came in a lot more is now "In the opinion of the tester" so I'm guessing your guy is a real anal one. BTW another of my pet hates is Mechanics / Garages who do not reset Service Indicators when they Service a Car, or don't Erase a Fault Code once fixed That is a part of the bloody job !! And don't get me started on the absolute morons who do "Diagnosis" by pulling Wiring Plugs off while it's running "to see if it makes any difference mate" ....................... Then the Car ends up at a decent Garage with a few hundred Codes and CAN Bus errors in it
  15. /\ /\ /\ LIKE Glad to here the BMW is sorted
  16. I said earlier, buttons disappear on Wndows 10, Windows 7 and Androids too
  17. I know what you mean lol, I should have said compared to a Discovery / RR, which lets face it, like my V8 AMG ML very rarely goes off road, what do you guys in England say ................. Chelsea Tractor !! Mine is a Heilan Tractor lol. Fuckin good in the "Snice" though What I'm really saying is ML is much better built than a Disco / RR, and G Wagon, especially an older one, is light years in front of a Defender See, you're out of the other side of it now, long may it continue Really sunny here too, but bitter cold right now
  18. +1 and exactly why I removed myself from the SE Motor Trade almost 12 years ago now. The little enterprise I run now in a small community is all repeat Custom, no advertising (apart from the Van sign writing) and the "posh pimped" Workshop Van was more for my own ego than anything It is all word of mouth recommendation, and I earn well out of it If I advertised I wouldn't get any more business, just a load of grief from those prepared to travel from Inverness and further afield If I had set up when I first moved up here I would not have been very busy for years, it took years to earn the trust of the locals, a liitle help here and there, do a few favours for the local community etc etc. Once you have that it works great !! Sadly in most areas of England now that counts for nothing.
  19. Absolutely agree, but I think the biggest expenditure will be refunds
  20. Succinctly put !! That's how the stupid legal system works, you get a CCJ, they don't pay, you have to spend more to get them back in Court !! I did a Civil on a guy once for a 38k Debt, cost me 10k in Solicitors Court Costs etc, never got a bean !! I could have had him battered by pikeys for a grand !! Never again
  21. Absolutely +1 , that's exactly what I was trying to convey. Of course I realise that a lot of bunters like a stamped book, but they just don't know the difference, and tbh, that's fine, ignorance is bliss. That's why EBay has Service Books What I am saying is I will not pay extra for a FMDSH Car !! I would not buy a personal car with FMDSH, unless it was under a year old, my E Class for example And it isn't just MB Dealerships, it is any make, and also there are Yee Ha's everywhere, minefield. There are also some good MD's and Garages, but if my locale, (both when in England and also where I am now), is / was anything to go on, there are also a lot more bad than good A private punter who says he has looked after the Car is the Car I prefer to buy, after I have asked him a couple of questions to suss out whether he actually knows about such things or whether he's a tosser It won't work for you guys, but almost all of my Sales Cars come from Privates. Late Cars, the guy has had a stupid offer to px it, or can't sell privately, and I (accidentally get talking to them), step in and save the day The Sunday Pub ritual, and all the gossip about everyone elses business gives me the leads
  22. I'd have to agree to differ there, S Class is available with 4 Matic (4X4) I have mates in USA (Snowy Mountain Areas) and in Canada running 4 Matic V8 S Classes, swear by them As you rightly say you can also raise the Suspension with press of a button. Yeah it aint a Rangey, or a Hi Lux, nor is it a Suburban or an F250 lol, but as a Snowy Road Car, awesome. If you want a decent 4X4 Off Roader then ML, or a G Wagon Sadly, the Supercharged V8 (mine) was not available with 4 Matic Yeah, I still love Cars, always have and always will. Trouble with big flash cars is everybody slates them for being unreliable, they don't look after them properly !! Main Dealer History means zip, all depends which Tech at which dealer did xyz job, (or more likely didn't) I'd much rather see a Car that had had a couple of Oil Services when new, then been looked after by a good Indie the rest of it's life Of course, it does help if you actually have a Workshop and can therefore look after them "In House"
