Just my opinion but... Do you want to be a car dealer or a car detailer? I don't have the time, energy, motivation, inclination or anything else to do my own prep. I have a full SMART Lechler paint scheme but still send everything to the SMART professionals around the corner. I pay my guy to do all the prep, leaving me to concentrate on buying right, picturing and advertising right - the rest is either outsourced or Nick (my detailer) does it. By the time you have factored equipment and consumables cost (and most importantly time), it makes no sense (to me), unless you enjoy doing it to do it yourself.

This is right. Whatever the circumstance, the insurance company who cover that car will pay the third party and if you're in breach of the policy terms and conditions, pursue the policyholder (or perhaps your mate) to reclaim their costs.

Quite common to have that benefit removed on a U25 policy or if he is 3rd party only.

And when you have one puncture, you get a run of punctures then go 10 years without one. I had a nail one tread to the left of centre (huge tyres) and (desperate), I took it to Formula 1 Tyres (multinational), who said that they cannot guarantee a repair because it is too close to the edge. Me, shut up mate, we're in the same game - here's £20, fix it and lose the invoice. Tyre was on +7mm.

Just had a lovely straight deal on my S Class. Lovely couple, both Bulgarian. Propped via my website, accepted - came with all their details/ID to satisfy Close Bros and their PX was better than expected. Hadn't seen the car only my video, quick look around and big smiles - back off to Sunny Devon. Why can't everyone behave like this?

I've had a few wasters this past week. One couple came to see my Tiguan, on a 15 with 40k FMDSH, 1 Previous, 2 keys, Match spec so NAV, self parking etc etc. Retail is £11,400, it's on at £10,995. Apart from one tiny speck of stone chip (I mean tiny, not dent) It is just what they are looking for then asks whether we have any more coming in?
