Fuck that i’m doing em in situ. Bubble wrap behind to protect the calipers and discs

My advice is, to get the best out of this forum, is to work shit out for yourself. When you need genuine help, you’ll get it. But you won’t be spoon fed, not saying you want it but just saying.
-
As said above, you will have a broad spectrum of answers. I used to be of the opinion it was 45 days and trade out but Nick on here made me realise that once you’ve put the effort in and prep’d it why get rid so soon. With that said I have one that’s knocking on 120 days and will soon become the victim of an eBay auction.

People love em mate. Not rusty discs by the way.

I forgot to add, if you’re looking for people “not to be mean to you” you’re definitely in the wrong game. Plenty of punters, suppliers, the authorise etc will be mean to you. I had an appointment booked this evening for a chap who told me yesterday that “he was definitely 100% coming” despite me asking him to text if he wasn’t, no hard feelings. He didn’t show up. Dont bother buying cars and setting out on this journey if you’re looking for people to be nice to you. They aren’t. People are c*nts. *authorities

There’s no doubt you can get a good finish with a rattle can and there’s plenty of videos on you tube showing this. I’ve got a set of x5 alloys i’m going to have a go at next week using Arfurs suggestion, its a £5k car so I don’t give a shit about a smooth finish just as long as they are black the punters will love it

Forget getting anything from main dealers. As a rule, anyway. With a dip in the new car market they are hanging onto the returns and swappers instead of trading them out locally. Those they don’t want they mostly have a policy of sending em all off to auction. Onviously some traders have long standing relationships with local main dealers/franchises but you don’t or won’t get those relationship quickly either. You’ll have to eat some shit to get to the fillet steak. By locally and privately, learn what works round your way. Oh and read the last months worth of posts on here. It will answer lots of questions.

Just read through this forum mate. There’s so much good advice on here it’s untrue. Also read the gov website regarding trade plates etc. There’s too many things to sum up in one post for “good tips” just read every thread on here from the last month and it will answer 90% of your questions. Good luck.

Put another on the board today, 5 for the month from 10. Even managed to nick a couple at auction today n'all. Well, it is my birthday today so maybe the gods are playing nicely....for now...

Thanks for the tip BHM. Fuck me you ain't wrong! Trouble with the flexible collection is that it's a bit too flexible in the sense that Manheim let you have 3 days before they start charging you a tenner a day I think which will erode the saving for not picking a specific date. Either way, I've got a collection on Monday for a reasonable if not higher than budgeted price. It is out of the way down there, I suppose.

I hope it chucks it down

Arfur Dealy plus anyone else down Plymouth way, I need a car moving from Manheim Plymouth to North West Kent, I've fired off a job request on Movex but thought I'd see if you have anyone local who will want the job? Transporter only although it's fine to drive I just don't want this particular one to be driven.

True dat. This forum is brilliant. If you’re someone with half a brain and an eye for detail coupled with the knowledge here I don’t know how you couldn’t run a successful little business or even a fk off sized one.

He’s my trader idol -
Well if you were he and baulked at advice offered i’d say don’t ask for advice
-
Indeed but to be fair it’s not slagging just some straight talk.

I think i’ve had my question answered. You’ve got some nice pieces but a LOT of . There’s a market for but even the penniless bottom feeders won’t buy it if it looks like. Theres an awful lot of choice when it comes to and those that put the effort in will win the war of the underclass. Get a dent man in for a couple of days to whip round and pull a few, order in a job lot of cheap “one size fits no one” over mats and take some fresh photos and actually look through the fucking lens of the camera as you take the photo and ask “would I want to buy that?”
-
Superb. Nicking that.

Like you I was sceptical but what is possibly happening is this; When you respond to an email, you do so via the anonymous email address which often goes into people's junk folder. Since I've been using CG's (about 2 weeks) I've seen a few decent enquiries through, no sales as yet but there is definitely genuine life out there!

Battery replaced, followed by a 20 mile drive mostly motorways, driven to 6,000 rpm, plenty of kickdowns and not a single issue. I'll do the same again tomorrow before handing back to the customer and hoping that it's done the trick.
-
Ok so if the phone has stopped ringing what about walk ons? Do you get a decent amount of those? What's your stock profile?
-
Are you just internet based or do you have a pitch? The internet changed car sales a lot I think and whilst I know there's plenty on here who have a pitch and do well I'm just wondering if times moved and you didn't?

I bought a car advertised on Facebook today.....
EPV replied to Arfur Dealy's topic in General Dealer Chat
As I said, the word Quattro seems to get people wet, as if the word makes the car a magical carpet ride or something. -
I'm not a million miles away but my stock is £5-11k so unlikely to get a £750 trade in and if someone did offer one up I'd bid them £200 so they'd sell it somewhere else!

I have one of those currently, a 2014 C250 CDI Touch wood there's nowt wrong with it!
