  1. You could offer the moon on a stick, free with a car, and people would still want to chip you.
  2. Because you’re selling a small car in an unpopular colour to a market that probably has the choice of a hundred small cars in a 25 mile radius to you and they are driven by one thing. Price. “I’d like a silver corsa but there’s a silver fiesta down the road that’s £100 cheaper” That’s the mentality of the small car buyer, mainly cos they are first time buyers, familes on a budget etc. You’ve probably picked the worst type of car to sell quickly for a decent margin. A silver small car.
  3. I had something with an A4 avant, there’s a fan/motor behind the glovebox somewhere, when that turbine/motor becomes off centre it can make a noise similar to what you are saying, comes on with AC off and vice versa. Can’t be more specific than that as i’m no mechanic but it was something that couldn’t be heard from the engine bay but from the cabin and would start/stop when the AC was switched on/off. Could be worth starting there. Obviously this isn’t s diy.
  4. I’d love to find a unit to take fifteen cars but to do so would cost me £3k a month and some. Obviously i’m on the outskirts of London so gold is probably cheaper per m2 than land round here. My next step is a storage compound and a portakabin. Also ask yourself how much finance penetration you’re likely to get on your stock profile. If it’s very low then what’s the point. Just get them to sort the finance paperwork out before they even come to see the car. I think if someone doesn’t want to commit to a finance prop before they’ve seen the car are they actually buyers. Pitch punters are different of course.
  5. AC pump perhaps. Where is the noise coming from?
  6. I value px’s over the phone, ask them a series of questions including things such as does it have any mechanical issues, is the clutch ok/not slipping/grinding/smelling like an industrial fire and then I offer £250 under what I would give them if they were telling the truth. If it loses me the occasional sale because they want unrealistic money for their gold plated turd then so be it. I also ask people where they are in their car buying journey, have they looked at many etc and if they need finance. I also state on my videos that the price is fixed. This may not endear me to all but it certainly sorts the wheat from the chaff and seems to prevent the basket cases some of you seem to end up with. To be fair Nick you did as much as you could. They slipped through your spastic catching net.
  7. Depending on how big the scratch is, i’d say just fill it with paint. Once levelled and compounded it will be very difficult to see the scratch without looking for it.
  8. It’s all about small edges adding up isn’t it?
  9. It’s as dusty as fuck and the compound is hard work in the heat but if you get it right I can’t fault the results.
  10. You’re probably going to need to compound and polish after you’ve flattened the paint with the tool, so it will do no harm to light wetsand before the paint.
  11. NAMA vehicle grades. 1 being near mint 5 being destruction derby. Well, not quite.
  12. Those photos are shit.
  13. I turned a grade 4 into a grade 1 over the last two days. £180 for the full front bumper smart repair and a wet sand, touch in, compound and polish by myself. I’d say in total I spent 6 hours myself, £10 worth of material and £180 on a smart repair.
  14. If they are clearcoat scratches wet sand, 1500, 3000 and then compound and polish. 30 mins from start to finish. But yes, if you wanted to drop clearcoat into a scratch and nip it off with this tool it will work.
  15. I think I’m not explaining myself or not getting what you’re saying. The results are returned by best match as a default. You scroll through the results, you’ll see the first advert, then the second, then the third and so on. Forget re-filtering based on price or distance that’s not what I’m talking about Someone or something has to decide which advert is shown first, second, third and so on as a default under best match. I don’t know what that something or someone is.
  16. https://www.ffx.co.uk/tools/product/Festool-Lzk-Hm-4014549147788-Spot-Repair-Scraper quick delivery
  17. Ok, and how are they ranked, who gets to be on Page one, page two etc?
  18. I’m not sure if you’re missing my point, on the app the search results are returned by “best match” whatever that means. Of course it’s a doddle to search by price or distance, it’s a very easy interface to use.
  19. I buy everything online mate. But yes, this one will be left alone.
  20. Thanks chaps. It’s a 2010 A4 avant. 100,000 miles. No abnormal wear comment. Obviously my concern is the PAS pump which I believe costs a pound or two to replace...
  21. Steering “caution” Generically speaking, what would this likely to be if it’s flagged up on the report?
  22. Loving the Festool block Justin, you need to be careful and get the right angle with it on curved body panels but it's a great but of kit. I'm discovering that you can really load the paint up and get it pretty much all over the gaff and it will still get ot off. Obviously I don't aim to do that but you don't have to be shy with the paint either.
