  1. The only thing missing here is a Parkers valuation and you'll send me back in time 15 years when I used to read that crap every now and then.
  2. I no longer find driving enjoyable in any car, comfortable is as good as it gets for me BUT after spending several hours today in this one it's certainly far removed from "hideous horrible form of transport." Will use it tomorrow as well while my own gets some recall work done.
  3. Just corrected it, thank you, this was left from the last Hybrid advert text I had copied (as one does). Just increased the mileage slightly too and changed the photo order.
  4. After reading this thread the other night I felt that the Auris in general took an unfair beating. Today I borrowed one from my stock to take it to Blackbushe (not to sell, just to drive for the day). 5 years old, 90K miles, auto. Taxed it. £0. Put a tenner of petrol in. Some is still in it after 80 miles. Drove absolutely superbly, I have to say. Like a new car. Extremely comfortable, plenty of toys, plenty of poke (1.8 Hybrid) so I can only assume that you had an old example or a bad one. Or a combination of the two.
  5. +1. In December 2016 I had 12 sales (12-14 stock) 8 were convertibles (Boxster, 3 series, A4, TT Roadster, Merc CLK and SLK). Especially the hardtop models I think are not seasonal in demand at all, plus my advertising always mentions that this is the best time of the year to buy one. For me at least it's true. Are you kidding? My cars are not costing me, they are paying me OR at least keeping some money outside the poorly paying banking system. CALCULATE DAILY PROFIT
  6. This what I pay not far from you for my "overspill p/x storage". Holds 8 cars.
  7. I remember saying here a month ago: I will never set foot in that particular auction site. Once was enough for me.
  8. Never, never, never do that again. It's asking for trouble. Especially when the numbers start adding up to more than 3.33 a month. "Yes, everything is MOSTLY OK but we have a squeak from the front wheels when we turn to full lock, what WILL you do about this..." WE ARE NOT NEW CAR DEALERS, WE DON'T HAVE THE MANUFACTURER'S BACK UP AND WE DON'T NEED TO DO WHAT NEW CAR DEALERS DO.
  9. I would’ve shown the car. Explained the EML and that that it is a minor issue but we have still booked it for Fri to get sorted. Offer to take a refundable deposit from the customer. This way you know you have a buyer lined up and if it turns out it was something serious you kindly refund their deposit in full. To Motors: I wouldn’t write an issue in the pdi check as repaired. This guarantees you a valid comeback if the customer has the same or similar issue in the next six months (misfire bank one cylinder one as an example).
  10. Multiple locking nut keys NONE of which fit the bolt pattern of that car. Four rear load covers, none of them fit the Audi Avant they were in. A Nokia 6150. Brand new, unused in unopened box in the spare wheel well. A fake Cartier watch. But there was a day or two of excitement before I had it looked at :-) a £50 note in the sun visor of an old Saxo (how they missed it at BCA I'll never know) A used vehicle sales invoice for £14000 one year before I gave £5500 for it in part ex.
  11. Never got a UBER ride? Never talked to the UBER driver? They all want one. Estate. Not pretty but who cares :-) There are plenty of people lusting after every car make and model currently on sale. Mazda Bongo and Mitsuoka Viewt included :-)
  12. +1 with the exception of the CarGiant number plates on the car. I am so used to seeing horrible scuffed cars all over London with these plates (although they were not sold in that condition) that I genuinely offer less for part exes that come wearing them.
  13. That customer would be crazy to accept a full refund +1 ???
  14. The last one I had from the old model (it was 2010, 60 reg), 80K miles, 3 owners sold for £6750 after HUGE interest. It was the hybrid but yours at 34K miles should sell within two weeks with some national advertising. Huge demand for low mileage petrols in London and under five grand.
  15. 15 year old diesel at £1650 will be a Ford or something French with below average miles or might even be German with 150K+ miles. I'll go German. A diesel Vauxhall at that age will be nearer the £650 mark :-)
  16. Hahahahaha. The saddest thing is, this wasn't even a joke.
  17. NO. He is entitled to get a refund or repair and also you are entitled to offer a refund or repair. The electric window isn't a big issue on an end-of-life car, the coolant loss (if major) IS. Offer him the repair once again reiterating that a courtesy vehicle is not an option here and ultimately he will probably come around.
  18. Cars are just cars, they all do the same thing, only in different ways. In the UK they don't show if you are somewhere or nowhere in life. On a practical level though I always feel more tired and depressed after 2 hours in traffic in an old french manual supermini than in a newish german automatic. I think manual gearboxes should be banned on H&S grounds.
  19. Now drive it 30-40 miles to make sure this is what the problem was before you give it back.
  20. Here is a very honest option: BUY IT. I don't understand the need of people to "see how" a 7 year old car drives. Mine could drive great, another could drive s***, a third could be remapped and have much better performance, a fourth could have a blocked EGR valve and feel sluggish. They don't need to test drive them all. Test drive one that you like the look of, buy it if you are happy. If you don't like how it drives TELL ME. Don't say stupid things like I have to talk to my wife and I know where you are now...
  21. If it's good as the OP says it must be worth the extra £600 he is paying. Hopefully the only surprise he gets is the fast sale. P.S. I LOVE 12 year old Bimmers. It's the 6 year old "low mileage" ones that scare me.
  22. I recall giving a value :-)
  23. No, yours will be in the mid 60s. "Had a similar size and shape BMW for 10 years, now I fancy something sportier plus I don't care about brands and badges anymore"
  24. AutoTrader ad attention grabber: BEST TIME OF THE YEAR TO BUY ONE. Advertise it for £5500 - £6K, use the word Exceptional several times in your ad and don't rush into a quick sale. A lady in her mid-50s will turn up on time, look for no more than 10 minutes, maybe drive, maybe not and give you your asking price. "Always wanted one and now that the kids have left the house I can finally have it". *Whatever you do don't take her Zafira or S-Max in part exchange, allow WBAC to make something out of all this :-) *If gentlemen in their mid-50s call you to "pop-in and have a quick look at it, have been looking for over 10 months now" tell them the truth: the car is reserved for a lady and she is coming soon to pick it up.
