Aftermarket workshops can add to the history, I’ve seen prints with Halfords auto centres etc on. We advise customers to keep invoices. However gdpr will abolish this too. Apparently we are to redact customers details from all service history moving forwards.

We have a Tiguan with a clutch that has transformed into a lathe and has cut a perfect hole into the gearbox... lost all of its fluid and burnt 4 gears!

Most of the jobs on these pieces of shit require the body to be removed to gain access. it seems the guys that designed them drew inspiration from their radio controlled cars they owned as children, not realising in the real world that removing a 1 ton body full of electrics is a “big job” it was probably 800 euros in parts and the rest in labour.

It’s not his profits I’m worried about... it’s he’s knees and his teeth

Customer wants to return the car in a week time

Can he smell cigarette smoke? Or Exhaust fumes? The first one is not your problem, the latter, will need addressing. -
Hi Grant I agree they do sell well, however we struggle to extract a profit after they have been prepped. They all seem to want 3 bottom arms, discs and pads all round (plus at least one frozen caliper), an oil leak and EML/ESP/ABS light ..... etc... Customers usually request that they have had their second timing belt? If we had 50, i don't think we could get them all prepped in a month. However our local Eurocarparts wishes we had more.

I see. If you made a claim, i guess they are going to look to recoup their losses over a 5-10 year period? An insurance expert will give you an idea of how it works. Do you have a broker?

Oh dear.... sorry to hear this. I hope your wife is ok. I guess it comes down to how much the vehicle is worth?

Well said that man.... We have done this for years! If the punter/client doesn’t like it, he can pay more elsewhere.

Make sure it is the DMF rattling. And not one of the belts making a similar noise? Also, i was told recently by a DMF specialist that sometimes DMF's can make horrible noises because of a different fault (ie injectors not spraying properly, timing out etc).

Lean codes are usually an air leak? EGR? Map sensor? - Air leaks are rare as they don't have a lot of pipework, id go with MAP sensor - live data is going to be your friend.

Was he from Scotland?

I was just about to say the same thing. We often throw away posh folders holding MOT, Service history etc with some main dealer branding wondering how much it cost.... here is my answer i guess.

Awesome, better than sending the clocks off for a repair.

I find it far better not to get into a confrontation and let them drive it, and then let them down if they want to negotiate etc... Like has already been said, its good to give them a run and blow the cobwebs off them.

They wont arrive until Jalember.....

Now i could be wrong, but on my HPI i can only either do a full HPI check or a HPI data search. Which one have you done Arslan? As the HPI data search doesnt include finance and insurance checks. You may have done a full check?

Side case gasket, we remove the sump now and pressurise the coolant bottle and look to see where the water goes.
