  1. My question suggested a recovery truck delivery TV. I agree you’d probably get stopped if driving it yourself to the punter. Especially out of the area.
  2. Just playing Devils Advocate: You’re one for the small print TV. Can you actually find anything that says contactless, virtual buying/deliveries can’t be done? I read it as that Rory et al are correct legally. We are told to ‘only go to work, if you absolutely can’t do it from home.’ Now I’m not suggesting car sites should be open to the public- they most certainly shouldn’t be. But, if you’re not furloughed, like many Ltd company directors aren’t, then I read it that you can go to work for necessary reasons. Going to collect a car, bring it home or to your lock up etc, seems acceptable in my interpretation as long as the MORE IMPORTANT social distancing rules are followed. As for deliveries journeys, I believe recovery truck operators are still able to work, as a friend of mine has one, and specifically has spoken to Dorset Police who confirmed he could still work. Now, the moral argument is a different thing of course. And only the individual can answer the question of what is prudent and sensible. Repeat, I am just playing Devil’s Advocate and not necessarily expressing my views either way. For example, the online ‘big boys’ are still in business with statements like this on their websites (I assume BCA etc have similar statements) Covid-19 update: Dealer Auction will remain active to advertise and transact vehicles. However, please adhere to government restrictions when arranging collection and delivery. Our team are working remotely but will do their best to manage negotiations. For questions please email info@dealerauction.co.uk. For negotiations please use negotiations@dealerauction.co.uk or call 0330 128 1250.
  3. Result Grant. You must be relieved. That’ll take a bit of the worry off!
  4. My landlord just text me giving his sincere thanks for my payment as usual. Not everyone has done the same apparently. I’m surprised so many can’t pay already. He said that if we remain closed next month, we’ll have to have a deal or payment holiday. Bless.
  5. ? Ha. You want to throw fruit at me?
  6. Ha. Is that not just something that’s been on continuously? I was meaning if you take something off for day, six weeks and then relist it- does it link up/carry on from previous listing? I’m sure the CG rep mumbled something about this but I’ve forgotten.
  7. I think I heard CG say 10 weeks but I could have dreamt it.
  8. Don’t know if this has been covered, and not being on AT for years/so maybe it’s been suspended (ha) -but for those that are still advertising with them and CG, is now not a good time to take off any old stock? When does it reset so that a new listing for the same car will not show previous Days in Stock number? Anyone know?
  9. Come back AD! Unfortunately, Admin won’t allow and AD wouldn’t come back anyway I suspect. . He is on the Trade 2 Trade Facebook page at least.
  10. Awesome. Thought so. I bet TV enjoyed it too.
  11. Nope. Not PAYE. Don’t qualify as most in my position don’t. So. ‘Were’ you on Dragons Den? Loved that episode if it was you. They looked scared
  12. All credit to you that. For what it’s worth, as a Ltd Company Director, I will get no help (maybe the rates grant but we’ll see). Whilst all these petitions are (mostly) noble, I doubt anything will come of them, so I wouldn’t let it get to you too much, but that’s just me. Maybe I’m wrong. I’ve become all Casper all of a sudden (credit to him)
  13. Easy tiger. I only said Hi. :0p Let it go. It’s a nice bunch on here. Must be as worrying a time for you as the rest of us. Have you had to furlough staff?
  14. Nice to meet you Ling. Maybe let’s all take a breath and be nice to each other. Good to have you on board.
  15. Thanks BATB. Was she on Dragon’s Den? What a character if so. I wouldn’t argue with her or spill her drink. :0)
  16. Yeah. Many of us know Ian. He has provided his name and phone number many times. Whilst he may perhaps look for the wind up on (most) occasions and takes some getting to know- he’s a good guy I think really -much as he tries to make out he’s a c*** ;0) (#lovetv) Ling: dunno anything about you however, but don’t bite. What are you up to now? Are you in the game?
  17. Have you been watching the new series? So funny!
  18. Would not your current residence be more desirable for most people to buy (bigger audience) than the one you want to buy? 12. Wow. Drive envy. ;o) I can see the thread now...who’s gonna start it? Cheers mate. You too. (I would like if I could or put a thumbs up thing if I knew how to do it on here.) :o)
  19. I think (unqualified opinion) that working from home will become even more acceptable after the crisis and, necessary for many. Much to my wife’s annoyance, just before lockdown, we had four work cars on the drive at home and one in the road. I’ve been washing and tinkering with them and our three personal vehicles on the drive/in the garage. Neighbours have been waving and saying high to me and don’t seem bothered, plus they know what I do/maybe did, for a living. . If only they knew the likely future :o) How many can you get at home now Mark? Your dream property might be loads cheaper anyway soon mate(s).
  20. Hi. Hope you’re on the mend mate. No chance of you coming out of Police retirement then?
  21. Well said mate. Nice post. Maybe our vague idea we’ve been throwing around about working from home in the future, my come sooner than we envisaged worse (ish) way.
  22. It sucks for a lot of us. Me included (have been trading at this premises since Jan 2013.) Ltd Co etc so no help for us. Except hopefully the rates grant, but I’m still prepared for a curve ball on that too. I was brought up to prepare for the worst and save where you can, so not beans on toast just yet, but never say never!
  23. Or would a National Insurance hike be the way? Tax the super rich more? It seems pitifully low at the moment. I’ve always thought that. (Probably I’m missing something somebody cleverer than me will point out & it could well be in addition to the other tax rises).
  24. I had the same conversation yesterday. They are ‘currently reviewing the options’.
  25. I see they’re still offering (no contact) deliveries.*edit they’ve just withdrawn What’s everyone’s thoughts on such a thing? Yes, no, maybe?
