From my experience you can tax a car if the MOT is valid for the month you are taxing it into. So for example if you want to tax a car on the 1st of Sept. ,the MOT can expire on the 2nd of Sept and no issues.

    That makes sense.

Mark, a part of me would love to have the knowledge to do it. Not even especially for the job, just to be able to do it. And I don't mean repairs, I mean even just getting the car shined up perfectly for photos/viewings.  Having said that, I have no indoor storage, so the rain would keep wrecking the effort.

I understand what you mean though. We haven't used a SMART repairer yet, and definitely when I go it alone, it's something I'll be looking into.

You must get a smart repair man Tradegirl for the small paint job bits, one of the best things I ever did, he can do a job in 1 or 2 hours that the paint shop would need the car for a week to do, but mopping and buffing I do myself.

Have you tried using a clay mit/glove yet James? Just about to run out of clay bar and was tempted to try one to see if it was a but quicker

I use a clay cloth with soapy water and it gives great results.

From £450 per annum you have to be having a laugh lol. I paid £450 for mine and then £55 per year. I have that as a bargain!

You will find that similar competitor sites are 2 3 4 or even 5 times that cost

Don't you thin Priced low seems a bit dull and makes it seem like there something wrong with the vehicle? Whereas great and good price sounds much better. I think im going to start listing my vehicle with that rather than priced low.

So up to now have you been deliberately aiming your pricing to get a "low price" marker?

Not the kind you lot are thinking off.....even better!

The Porsche submarine I wrote about..

Well, it took a lot of work, but it was actually a real gem once it was buffed up and ready to roll. A minter really.

Didn't cost much to sort in the end, just a lot of time and skinned knuckles.

First lead makes an appointment, rolls up and bang,  full price right away. Sold within a week at a good profit.

    Happy!!

    Nice one :-)

Some of you guys are showing your age here! I never remember Vat being any less than 17.5%

I think I remember Vat going from 7.5 to 8%, I used to invoice out repairs at that time for the garage I worked at in 1975/6 at 16/17 years old.

Depends on the car i think, people wont travel 100's of miles for a toyota aygo as there are always plenty to pick on there door step.

You would think so, but a couple of years ago I had a couple come from near London (200 mile from me) for a 1500 pound 06 Citroen C3 diesel with about 125k on it !

My wishes for a customer free weekend have been dashed.

A bloke that just wouldn't take no for an answer. He's apparently armed with a deposit and has an eta of 14:00.

    We'll see

Good luck with the sale CB
