07 Fiat Bravo 1.9 Multijet - Difficult to get into reverse
BHM replied to Arfur Dealy's topic in General Dealer Chat
Hahaha, and talking-the-talk but never walking-the-walk. Tbh many of them sound like those emailer idiots on eBay. -
There’s no such thing as a decent CHEAP chrome plating job. Pay up or watch it pickle & flake off in the near future.

07 Fiat Bravo 1.9 Multijet - Difficult to get into reverse

F*** me, they must be desperate for cars down there. I wouldn’t of been able to raffle it off. I suppose as the old saying goes “shit sells”. Funnily enough I’ve got an ancient Mondog preliminarily advertised - I had so much interest on Saturday I put the price up £300 & this morning added yet another 2 punters to my phone list! The last time I had an old Mondeo was about 3 years ago & I couldn’t give it away. -
He’s disappeared! Milked the lads for FREE information, took offence at someone’s swearing, played the keyboard warrior & flounced off. There’s a real man! I wonder what he’d make of being called an ungrateful parasite?

Auctions...how much do they charge big vendors
BHM replied to trade vet's topic in General Dealer Chat
I could well believe it, years ago they were on about £30 per car so allowing for even more competition (especially online auctions) then it’s very possibly £zero nowadays. I’ve often wondered how/why the CAP figures haven’t increased when, of a particular car, ever car makes clean or above clean money - think Discoveries, Wranglers etc., never seen one at average money. -
I don’t particularly like the small car market but I’d take a Pug 207 over a BMW any day of the week. Less hassle upfront, a quick sale & no bloody comebacks!
-
Why oh why? It takes all my energy to listen to them the first time.
-
They get 6 months before an eBay auction here (few and far between thankfully). Heard a tale the other day; Any bad cars (such as those requiring removal of the oil pressure light!!) should be put in your name, nowadays the new v5 hides previous details, auction on a private account as a private sale & wave the buyer off into the sunset with a No Warranty invoice!! I nearly choked on my coffee, who’d of thought it from a gentleman of the motor trade!?!!! I couldn’t believe his attitude towards Trading Standards & the general public. I sometimes grow tired of punters but there are some very sharp practices being employed by the unscrupulous.
-
But I’ll say 2 months. If it ain’t gone by 2 months it’s an orphan.

Orange rusty brake dust!?!!! That’s when the pads/discs are metal to metal
-
I’m reading between the lines here. Now the football’s knackered it seems every man & his dog fancies a dabble. I think we’ve been here before once or twice.

You beat me to it. ARFUR, this is the polite (and dare I say sensible) version of your comment. Welcome MIZ, hold on tight for the comments

Are you selling newish cars? It’s never been a deal killer for me (up to £5000) - I’ve done a grand total of 2 sales cars in my entire life. You won’t get a perfect finish doing them yourself. The idea is just to ‘take away the eye’ of the punter and due to the relatively poor finish you should do them something like satin anthracite, satin black etc. Forget gloss silver on a £20 DIY job.

That’s two of us then!

I only use anyvan.com nowadays - you’ll get a fixed quote immediately & they do exactly what they say. I’ve NEVER had a problem, unlike every other company I’ve tried, and if you select their flexible date option they’re unbeatable on price. Also their prices are for transported, not driven, and INCLUDE the VAT. Tbh I’m surprised the lads work for what they do but these professional hauliers always seem to be looking for return loads. Sorry if this sounds like an advert for them but they are by far the best haulage ‘agency’ I’ve used. So far EVERY one of their hauliers has either met or exceeded expectations - does this sound like your typical local man who does it when he wants & for 30% more?
-
Fuck me, I fell asleep reading this.
-
They aren’t worth a wank - not even from that skeleton in the dustbin.
-
Is this a f***ing wind-up!?!! I quickly glanced only at the first 10 & thought they all want crushing. What a motley ragtag of pure. I thought I sell some but at least mine is freshly MOTed (usually), washed, reasonably clean inside & SENSIBLY PRICED. I suggest the proprietor gets off their derrière & drastically ups their game. This looks like a case of yet another greedy & lazy pitch man remembering the Klondike years. Times have changed, with the likes of you it’s no wonder us internet sellers make nice wages - keep it up! Occasionally I advertise the odd p/x snotter for spares or repair - even those are advertised far tidier than your retail (ahem!) cars. Sorry, f.a. sympathy here.

HAHAHA, that’s the funniest thing I’ve read in years. I was howling & had to explain to the Mrs. A Corsa DIESEL!!????!!!!!! You must be blood joking! I assumed he meant petrol, that pitiful 1248cc piece of shit is horrid. Marc, if they’re diesel don’t touch the little bas****s!! I wish you’d told me 4 months ago! Mine has FSH, NEW TYRES & NEW BRAKE DISCS & PADS but I’ve not had chance to show them off!! I’ve not opened the door to a single punter!! Even the greedy scum don’t want a Corsa nowadays! I’ll be driven to my grave in my Corsa. Argghhhh!!!!

And another! More interest today than over the last fortnight. They can’t go forever without cars!!

Hahaha, tbh there’s money in shit - I often buy £3-400 turds locally (the decent ones such as 2.0 petrol saloons/estates - I leave the small car shite for others) put a few quid of parts into them, 12 months ticket, a quick scrub up & turn them around for £12-1500. Not big wages but minimal effort on my part, they fill a few spaces, the punters are grateful for a car with new parts and a GENUINE M.O.T. and as Tesco says “Every little helps”. Still wouldn’t want a Bravo though -

Never in my entire life have I felt the need to research FIAT Bravos & I’m not about to start now. -
That much! I’ve kept reducing & now got about £120 wiped across one & it’s still of absolutely no f***ing interest to anyone. A shame because I actually don’t mind Corsas but for a selling proposition I might as well stick up an advertising sign next to the local school with a picture of Gary Glitter’s face on it.

Don’t celebrate your auction purchases until you’ve got them back & driven them!

Another proper trader doing the job right.........
