  1. As a retailer you cannot sell a vehicle SAS, you cannot dissolve a consumers rights. You can however sell it as unfit for purpose, unroadworthy, untested, without a current MOT and only fit for parts or to be repaired. It must be trailored away and the billy must be fully aware and has signed / agreed in no uncertain terms
  2. Wise words, and if it wasn't broken when purchased it's down to expected wear n tear associated with a used car........ Billies need to understand this from the point of sale, its their responsibility to maintain the car, their expectations should be befitting to the vehicle they purchased and the price paid. Our responsibility is to make sure the car was fit for purpose, safe and as described at the point of sale. Substantiate this with documented proof etc which the customer signs on collection. Do your job right, be reasonable and fair. Treat customers how you would expect to be treated in the same situation, look at it from their side. If they are unreasonable, tell them straight, if you give an inch they'll take a mile... I quote, don't give an unreasonable moaner an ear.....
  3. We all do our best to look after our billies, but some are clearly deluded. At some point you have to tell them to jog on - do your worst... there is no reasoning with unreasonable.
  4. I’m not sure if that is correct.A Cat B bodyshell should be crushed however the parts can be resold. https://www.gov.uk/scrapped-and-written-off-vehicles/insurance-writeoffs I agree, TG shouldn’t even be contemplating getting involved, leave it to the breakers.
  5. I’m not clever Cat B’s can’t go back in the road, no point even thinking about it......
  6. It Its just another way for AT to be more controlling and take away our independence. The only reason AT have done it is to benefit THEM not us.
  7. Don't even look at it... Its a non-starter.
  8. I like instant results............. silicone spray.......
  9. B2B is covered by the SOGA, the CRA covers the general consumer.
  10. As with any cleaning it simple, start from the top and work down.....
  11. I started off as a valeter on a 30 car pitch..... I was on £1.25 an hour £50 a week, the owner used to charge £50 for a full valet and I would machine polish when necessary, first compound, the T-Cut, then a polish and a buff as needed. I would wash all the cars twice a week and leather them off every single morning, it was hard work... I suppose its all to a different level now with different polishes... Big respect to what you do
  12. No offence intended at all David / detailers, but I am confused..... why would anyone spend £900 on cleaning a car ? I really can't get my head around "detailing" surely its just an Americanism for a good quality valet ?
  13. If I had made the buyer fully aware, irrespective of an admin error I certainly would not be bending at all. This screams to me, the buyer was unaware..... Too add, I don't buy or sell write offs, but if I did the purchase receipt would have "WRITTEN OFF CAT S N C D- INSURANCE TOTAL LOSS" written all over it...... For the buyer to fully acknowledge and agree.
  14. If you sold the car responsibly, with the buyer being fully aware it was a right off, why the hell are you back tracking ?
  15. Welcome. Has she provided proof the car was unfit for purpose or unsafe within the 30 days ? The burden of proof is on her to reject within 30 days. I'm sure your gesture was "without prejudice". The CRA is very clear about the burden of proof. No proof no refund.
  16. Bit like me, I'm always looking for a profit in anything....
  17. I could find that reply deeply offensive, but seeing as you haven't been a nob for a few posts I'll take it as it was intended
  18. Why are these morons targeting our forum ?
  19. Me too Not that they would of been appointed unless they'd paid the deposit upfront.... Perv
