It seems that a lot of security features - locking wheelnuts, immobilisers and coding electronics to VIN etc. only cause problems for the law abiding. The lowlifes have no problems getting around them.

Mate of mine last week bought and went to collect an escaped FIAT prototype, the rarely available manual 4 speed Punto, won't even find 5th anywhere......'sold all good' same run-around as above.

Hi, hope all are well. I’ve just sold a Zafira b 2 weeks ago 60k and immaculate. The guy just called me to say the clutch is slipping.. It was fine when we did a 10 mile test drive but hay ho that’s cars for you. My local guy has recently retired so my question is anyone have an idea of price for a clutch kit and would you use an decent indi or one of these franchises that I wouldn’t trust to fix my wheelbarrow. I don’t want to go the cheapest route and he has the same problem 12 months down the line

Try a different dealership, there’s always one who has them in stock

True, a bit like online banking security protocols. With all the hurdles I have to jump to check my paypal account it certainly doesn’t stop ‘chloe’ from Paris spending £2500 on a jet ski!
