If you are a car buyer who hasn't changed their vehicle for a few years and are looking on your new mobile via AT / eBay app its really difficult to find the sellers description, let alone a video..... Its like, they are designed to make it as difficult as possible for the customer to find the important info like ( the sellers actual description ). Instead, they are bombarded with FINANCE FINANCE FINANCE, HPI etc...... AT is solely designed to give them more revenue, not to enhance the sellers advert, or make it easy for them.... its all about AT and whats best for them....... and we are BITCHES to them....

Yes that's correct. You can select the options from the list but IN ADDITION you can type other stuff and their algos are programmed to search keywords like Navigation, Media, Leather, Panoramic, Lane Keeping, Rapid charging etc etc. So in a short advert without most of these words the vehicle will have a slightly lower suggested retail although it may be an identical car!

I have recently stopped writing long-winded paragarphs waxing lyrical about each car, instead it reads (for example) 2010 (60) VW Scirocco 170 GT Manual 1 Previous Owner 163,000 Miles Full Main Dealer History 12 Months MOT 19" Alloys Air Con Cruise Control etc and then end with 2 Orginal and Working Remote Keys. This, plus the photo and video is more than enough IMO. I hate reading, so bullet points is the way forward as far as I am concerned.

I think the torque settings from the Half inch gun are brilliant when tightening a wheel you can pick from one ugga dugga or two ugga duggas

Been covered before but its obvious from talking to people on my cars that the add has not in the slightest has been read, MOT Service History and Warranty questions ant yet its all covered in add wording, My question then is how are these customers forming an opinion of why they should call or come and see my cars as apposed to other cars if they are ignorant to the add wording, It cant purely be down to pretty pictures

not just or really LHD, and i think skylines are available stateside already? there is stuff here that wasn't available in the states for various reasons emmissions / crash safety etc, a lot of these will start to leave the u.k under the 25 year exemption rule, a certain brands better models are now starting to qualify for the 25 year rule and coupled to the dollar buying a lot of sterling i'll not be surprised to see and exodus here. not the later euro spec cars yet, these are not eligible stateside until being 25 years old, currently that means 1994 and backwards, the later euro hotter spec cars 95-98 will be on the export radar soon, if you have one hang onto it for now!

not much call for it now for a few reasons, classics have slowed here, exchange rate poor, the few main sellers now available here in right hand drive - mustang, corvette cadilac sr. etc?there is a bit of life in british classics in lhd if they are cheap basket cases. being u.s.a based you should use it too your advantage and try it in reverse- exchange rate is good for you, and you should be looking closer at your u.s.a 25 year rule if you know what i mean, just don't tell everyone

I had a buyer on a Scirocco in here two days ago, said he came and saw mine first because of the write up. I do like to paint a picture of what it's like to own the car where possible. As ever, in this industry, you can't be everything to everyone. There will be people who look at a few photographs and read two lines of your advert and ring and there will be people that will move on to the next advert because yours simply states a spec list of the car. Horses for courses.

Oh yes they read them! Otherwise how did a bloke spot the "£300 finance deposit contribution" I had forgotten to remove from deep in the text on an advert last month and had to effectively deduct from my price :-) Also something not everyone is aware of: AT price indicators ALSO depend on options MANUALLY TYPED inside of your advert text, not just the ones selected from the list of options.

I used to sell quite a few to people in Europe and here's why. The rules were (and maybe still are) that if a car had been previously registered in a EU state, it could then be registered in any other EU state. It was a doddle to register a Pick Up here in the UK, much easier than say France or Germany so if they bought one here that was UK registered it was much easier to register over there. It was very difficult to register a US car in France for example if it had come directly from the US but much easier if it had been registered here first. There was lot of work to do apart from all the shipping and customs. Anything from the US had to go through a conformity test with the ministry which used to be called an SVA test, then you had to MOT it and finally register it. All told it would normally be around 3 months from buying in the US to having it ready to retail over here and sometimes quite a bit longer if you missed a shipping date etc.

OK, seems to be running better, I'll take it to Kyle and get MOT guy to stick his tube up it again, will write down the readings if not OK now

I have always been reluctant to offer a warranty, but after considering the Lawgiistics booklets and advice form Nik and others I adopted them this year. I’ve paid out twice, once on a water pump and some other pipe thingy, both within 30 days and not covered in the warranty, both I paid in full remotely no quibble as a matter of course. Both customers very happy, I would have done it anyway, but it shows the customer you have gone obive and beyond.....Both, non screamers and only £400 on nearly 30 cars sold in that period...
