I am finally back home, G&T in hand. Total - petrol £105 Misfuel - £199 (AA Discount and because I hadn’t started the engine + £10 worth of diesel inc). Diesel - £119 £423 inc VAT (I will claim the VAT)

Phew...and breathe. Could have been a lot worse. Yet to do it myself but i'm sure I will. Our local indie station just prints 'Fuel' on the receipt and I usually question myself and pray as I turn the ignition on.

Those punters who are obsessed with penny pinching (that means plenty of them) aren’t interested in petrols. All they see is a few more MPG & a slight saving on RFL. The death of the diesel is a long way off with my punters.

Customers for the £20K cars don't go over them nearly as much as the £999 brigade. In fact some of them don't look at the car in detail before or after a test drive.

It annoyed me at first when they wouldn't have fees on display except the public fees ... It would be better business practice if they had fees up so buyers had an incentive to purchase more cars if they could see fee difference from card to card. Sly and cunning
