I’ve no idea Nick but that’s what they say to me. Funnily enough, to be more accurate I’d say it’s predominantly a Polish ‘thing’ so perhaps it’s something to do with driving regulations, insurance, or whatever back in Polska. The Hungarians and Romanians who live here usually do have a UK licence, in my limited experience. I think we’re all basically agreed on that if we can help, we will, especially those who need our help, but ultimately it’s the customers’ problem and I certainly don’t lose sleep over the actions of the many who’s attitude seems to be not to give a toss. Easy. I say I can’t give out definitive insurance advice as each company & policy is different & tell them they need to check with their insurance company. It’s at that point most then decide to “sort it when I get back home”

Nope, I wouldn’t know where to start. I have a billy basic one that comes in handy from time to time! I’ve always thought it’s one thing to have a good diag tool but it’s another to learn how to interpret what you are seeing correctly. I don’t seem to have time to get the basics done at the moment never mind learn how to interpret fault codes correctly! I like to learn, i’m always asking questions whenever a car of mine is being worked on but I prefer to leave that sort of thing to the experts and spend my time doing something else! I’d love to have the time to understand more but there’s only so much one man can do...

Hi Kelly & Ryan, Congratulations on your new business, it does sound the perfect setup and opportunity. You've also done well to find this site too, the experience of the old, and new trade members here are a source of great knowledge, passion and drive, I'm sure that you'll find help if/whenever you need. Don't let Ryan stay too quiet though, his experience in vehicle detailing will be invaluable for many, me included. Good luck for now and the future. Good job with the Meriva as well...

I bought 2 BMW’s from BCA last month, one after the other, neither had service history listed. I found both service history packs for both cars in the boot of the second car I bought... what is the chance of that

We (b*a assured testers) found a blanked handgun once in the wheel well of a land cruiser at a certain auction site in Walsall! Armed response turned up it was very exciting

I would’ve shown the car. Explained the EML and that that it is a minor issue but we have still booked it for Fri to get sorted. Offer to take a refundable deposit from the customer. This way you know you have a buyer lined up and if it turns out it was something serious you kindly refund their deposit in full. To Motors: I wouldn’t write an issue in the pdi check as repaired. This guarantees you a valid comeback if the customer has the same or similar issue in the next six months (misfire bank one cylinder one as an example).
