I'm trying AT as ebay has died a death, getting plenty of views but no phone calls. Motors is crap and gumtree etc is a waste of space. Im on a rolling monthly contract and can come off at any time. I read more good things about being on AT than I do bad. Now my stock is newer low mileage the likes of ebay just doesnt fit.

"unfortunately the car has failed it's MOT" Nooo, you don't say! Number plate bulb was it mate? Apparently it's red as well. I don't know which bit he's referring to. Oh and the key is missing. Even the scrappie would suck on a tooth for that. Must have cost him £55 to advertise it. People ARE weird.

Gumtree is a waste of time, and CarGurus is occasionally OK, but you're better off on the free package. Motors is about as good as CarGurus-that is not very. ebay Motors Pro works well for some (me included). Exchange and Mart is quite cheap and they'll do you a website (an average one) but results are hit and miss. Most on here will recommend Autotrader (or the vocal ones at least) if you can get your head around the extortionate cost (I can't-but as Nick says: see other threads) if you're only a small operation then this is probably the place to try first. Especially if turning over your stock quickly is a priority and you want to play the game with regards to price indicators and you are sensible with your profit margins. So, yes everyone- that's me recommending Autoraper I think! :0) Good luck!

Do these tossers who come up with "Clone Speak" like 'World Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure' not realise that manufacturers cannot reach their impossible goals without compromising the reliability !!

I think you've hit the nail on the head. Fewer staff having to work harder and under pressure. But, I don't think it will be long before auctions become online only. Physical auctions are becoming less attractive to auction houses for 'many' reasons.

Marketplace might currently be like that but building your own page and highlighting your stock can and does work very well for some dealers. We are personally enjoying seeing regular sales off the facebook page. It feels great when a non paid for post on our company page sees someone tag a mate in the post, mate messages via the page, turns up to view the car and ends up buying it to the finance example provided and drives away. It involves a long game though and takes a long time to build up.

So sad , here's hoping to as quick and full recovery as possible. As someone who has been at PW week in week out for years now I really feel for all involved, it's just so busy over there now, volume has increased massively, and staff numbers have never been so low it seems, also a high turnover of staff, I really hope the driver wasn't feeling under undue pressure.

I think you may be in for an unpleasant surprise with regards to buying in January.

The repair costs are reassuringly expensive.

Barclaycard won’t do anything following an investigation. Erm 5 month of use and refusing to state mileage, refusing to allow inspection etc etc. This guy is an utter chancer, he’s seen a weakness and thinks he can take piss 5 months down the line I repeat THIS is exactly why you should NOT take card payments.
