Nik, you can’t ask him for more money. Take it in the chin.

My only criticism is of "us" not the mag/forum. This is a public forum and I think we should be using the Private room more often (I am guilty too). I hate the idea of a rogue trader, dodgy doorstepper et al benefiting from the free advice us tax paying, law abiding, warranty honouring, properly preparing traders do. I also don't like to share my wins and fails with everman and his dog, whereas occassionally I like to share my joy or tears with fellow traders outside of the public domain.

very, very good bread and butter cars, I've sold lots of picantos and sportages with no comebacks. sensible punters too. Dont think theyre expecting to sell many of them, I suspect you've just had an encounter with a kia employee!

No I wouldn’t compensate, it’s their plate they pay. They’ve been lazy by not putting the plate on retention prior to selling the car to you.

what i did today on a black metallic car was get the correct basecoat out i added some 2 pack lacquer and then mixed in a good bit of hardener so the paint would start skinning in 15 minutes ,went round the car at least twice touching in every scratch and there were plenty, this way the complete paint will fall in and so no cutting required, this is a 08 citroen so it doesnthave to be perfect but it looks a million dola to a punter with 1300 nickr in his sky rocket

If someone takes a dealer to court over a car like this the claim will be thrown straight out. "Struck out" :-) You buy at those miles with that "fair wear and tear commensurate with age and mileage" you don't get to waste their time...

customer bought picanto back,it had ruined the battery and i thought damaged the ring gear on the flywheel because starter had stayed in mesh ordered a new battery and found it was the ignition switch gone faulty rang the kia dealer and they had one,it was delivered an hour or so later for a grand total of £12 tell me what other dealer would send a part out like that at that cost none whatsoever not even hyundai their prices are eye watering

We would fill the showroom with kia/hyundai if we could, but cant buy enough, just look at the market share these manufacturers hold now.Good cars with good warranties, would like to see vw bmw merc etc. give 5/7 year cover, they would all be bankrupt within a few years,

I really like Kia, Hyundai and the like but I wouldn't chose one becuase I am a petrol head, car snob or whatever you want to call me (stupid perhaps) even though they're probably better and almost certainly carry a better warranty than the types of cars I want/do/have own(ed)

if youve rung them, they will see a missed call from you. If they choose to do nothing, thats down to them. when they ask for it back, give it and count yourself lucky you didnt have to deal with them when the MMT plays up....
