I do really well on sundays, 2 today, normally get the spur of the moment buyers on sunday. 2 last Sunday also. I know these people can all appear to be a pain in the arse but there is some decent customers mixed in there I would of just said you have brought it into trade? Why didn’t you bring it into trade and do it online. Takes 2 minutes.

The only saving grace is the under bidder messaged me gutted he'd lost out by a penny, he'd put his max bid in and was busy when the auction finished, I put him in the picture and he's coming round tomorrow having sent a deposit via paypal.

Cafe was in a central glass room, just prior to auction lane (don't recall there being two but long time ago) overlooking the hall Isn't amazing - at the time you must have been totally devastated at the cost/loss, how to recover, stress, wishing you could undo the deal. Now just water under the bridge. had several nightmare buys but now I smile to myself about how it seemed to be the end of the world. Still have the odd one now but I don't sweat it, just hate the bastard car until the day it goes and they always do in the end.

Brings back memories of going with my old man and seeing Maxis being pushed thru by a couple of yard lads, selling for £10, only to see the buyer drive off in it running fine

Justin, If only bigger companies taught their staff to take ownership instead of passing the buck.. just imagine how much easier everyone’s lives would be. It’s an excellent principle to run your business on.

I had a complaint about our sales man last month, customer rang in saying he was rude and abrupt when I asked her for details she told me she doesn’t expect to be told sorry this garage isn’t for you when she asked can you not help me the sales man advised she needed far more help than a car sales can offer. of course I had to quiz him on it, basically the lady came in with her how to buy a car guide and laid down the rules of how she wil do business with us terms and conditons even had them written down, then a check list for 7 different cars she wanted to drive my guy tried his very best after 35 mins of pointless dribble explaining it is impossible to match Hyundai,s 7 year warrenty of a 2k Fiesta she then acccused him of trying to put her in a clearly illegal car as why would be putting trade plates on she isn’t in the trade and we must be trying to mask the cars real identity from her. At that point he pointed her in the direction of the door and said thanks but no thanks. I said good bullet dodged there and made the next round of coffee.

I have a few classics and more modern interesting stuff around, still trade the bread and butter stuff but I’ve ended up with a dozen or so classics which the trade aren’t interested in and I don’t have big enough balls to retail / eBay etc!!!! I can’t deal with the public, wouldn’t sell anything because as soon as one word of crap came out of their mouth I’d kick them out of the yard!

Yea I’ve seen a few on eBay adverts over the years. “Just had new head gas kit” was a recent one.
