Love reviews, customers always comment about mine, might not have sold me any more cars but it certainly helps differentiate me from Fred in the shed down the road who purely sells on price and doesn't give a toss about aftersales or service. Had a gentleman at the weekend travel down from Stirling for a Focus at the weekend who said he read all my reviews before he set off and knew he could trust me. Still each to their own I imagine but don't understand why you wouldn't use them. People can leave reviews about you anywhere nowadays so better to look after your customer and send them a review request than sit and wait for the eventual bad review, would you book a holiday without checking out the hotel on tripadvisor?

Agreed, I personally always look at reviews and do my research prior to making a purchase. My buyers often comment on my reviews, it gives them confidence and as a digital retailer to purchase from me........

I see, just like you Earunder they are regulated by the FCA ! I would just make a complaint about their sharp practice. They may offer 6 month contracts from the outset as an incentive, but I doubt anyone will actually have them.I may be wrong, but I think for accounting purposes the total value of these contracts show up in their balance sheet as assets making them look a far stronger company than they actually are.So they probably sign up anybody and the longer the better.....I see they have a load of debt, you are probably right. AA ....that looks like it could be another Carrillion....!

This is my biggest bug bear, got caught with an AACars contract, beware of them too! set up on a 6 month contract which, if you don't cancel the month before the end of 6 months is up, your rolled over into a 12 month contract with 12 month cancellation period, then, when you read their t's and c's there is nothing clear to say that, it read something along the lines of 'read clause 1.2' which said something vague, to send you to clause 3.9 same scenario and sent you off to another clause - definately grounds for misleading terms if it had got to court - it didn't, the guy who signed us up had left and they had no proof we were told these were the terms verbally...i had kept a record of dates/times/conversations and could refer back to them and this was our get out of jail card... so, avoid AAcars too!!

Big companies need stock. Big rent and rates, staff bills, high utilities, debt to service, massive advert costs. Can't service all that with no stock. It's why, IMO, many of these places pop up, trade for a few years and go pop because the business model is like walking a tightrope. Never understood the appeal of a massive forecourt/supermarket with no margins personally, I just see it as a vanity thing. Much rather have half the stock with twice the carefully bought margin in it.

Yep I'm internet based and a fair few customers say they pitched up off the back of good AT and Facebook reviews , just wish more of the lazy sods would follow through on their promises to leave one too...

It is worth checking if these premises could qualify for a Business Premises Renovation Allowance ( 100% tax relief ) or some other allowance should it be located in a ‘Disadvantaged Area’ which is defined by post codes.

I’ve been on a pitch for 3 years and consider myself just internet based, the pitch holds 20 cars, in the early days I’d sit here all day scared I’d miss a sale, then I thought I’d get a valeter so when I wasn’t there he could look after the customers (what a waste of money that was) he left over a year ago, It took me 2 years to realise I can easily manage 20 cars on my own and when I’ve looked at what sales I do from walk ons it averages about 1 a month (we’re in a smallish village, not near loads of main dealers and car pitches) so what is the point being sat in an office all day stressing yourself out! but I would love to own a pitch or unit and not have to rent, always feels better when you know it’s yours.
