it's perfectly legal to sell from home as long as you have no signage on the house, no advertising price boards in the cars, no alterations are made to the premises to accommodate the business and no preparation work is carried out on the premises.. If you want to do all of the above you must apply for planning for retail and repairs if you do your own work and if nobody objects you can do it all legally, you will pay business rates on the parts you use for business and normal rates for the rest. If you want to service cars make sure you get a waste oil licence and if you valet them the council normally insist on some sort of treatment process/tanks for your waste water. Also would need to pay for a separate waste collection service as I you're caught putting trade waste in your domestic bin you could get done for fly tipping.

Give them the keys and leave them to it!!!! I try and get them relaxed in the environment so they don't feel rushed or stood over. They may have others to look at but by turning them away they aren't going to come back. Be friendly and think long term.

just make it easy for the customer ... sometimes putting barriers up just stops the sale , ...... have to judge each one on its merits but i believe 90% who test drive buy .. the 10% ..well its all part of the job! can't win them all ..!

Ours was the tfsi (so much better than the tdi) having said that we have a White tdi coupe in stock and while its having a few more calls its still not sold. TT's certainly the coupe diesels usually sell well in white. I don't think it's the engine putting people off, I collected an A5 on Sunday, 2.0tfsi Quattro auto and it sold on Monday and we have 2 others that would have wanted it.

I collected a Cayman yesterday and the owner said you will need to fill it up, it had just under a quarter of a tank, enough to get me to the moon. Watch z4's though, they are quite accurate, it said it was empty and spluttered to a stop just as we rolled it into the lock up.
