FORD ECO

Recommended Posts

I would have said that news will add value in my eyes. Its like a comforter for customers that should their engine go pop Ford will sort it out.

We had a 1.6 Kuga a while ago that popped a coolant hose/pipe and we ordered and fitted the new pipe sharpish, it wasnt till i read about this happening quite frequently in South Africa and America that i realised we could have got ford to pay for it.

I love hammering our Hyundai Konas 1.0 Eco Boosts into the ground safe in the knowledge knowing they are under warranty and on lease anyway. . . . . Havent broke 1 yet and enjoy driving them however would never commit to buying a car with that engine !

Goes well when running correctly. A lot were recalled but we had a customer bring in a rough running one into our service workshop. It had recently had the upgraded pipe and it still blew the upgraded pipe and done the engine in. Ford contributed 60% which i thought was poor.

No Dave. New engine required. I am sure at some point, someone will sort out a remedy.

They also suffer terribly from oil sludging internally.

I am not going to touch any Ecoboost or Powershift Fords, ever.

Nor me, and I was never going to. A throw away made on the cheap engine if ever there was.

overheating [and apparently they do this within seconds] when the pipe fails doesnt show on dashboard, head cracks and the water directs into exhaust port and from what i can work out on the 1.6 the head cracks on a oil feed , thats what the fire is.

Sold quite a few of these but only ever taken in as part exchanges. Can see an influx trying to be offloaded now.
