andymc1973 199 Posted October 26, 2017 Hi all, I bought this last week and whilst I spotted the damage I'm still at a loss how to fix/mask/hide it, it looks like someone has fixed something to it and then made a right arse of getting it off, the top of the dash is available from the breakers but its a big job to fit (radio is now back in)
Tom 164 Posted October 26, 2017 Looks like super glue? Super glue remover without damaging the plastic won’t be easy?
andymc1973 199 Posted October 26, 2017 Had an interior guy out and he said no chance
Arfur Dealy 823 Posted October 26, 2017 Angle grinder, filler, simonize black, job done chizzle and hammer and a no dope smoking sticker Serious answer.... Ebay, buy and old school dash mounted phone holder to cover it up......
metcars 397 Posted October 26, 2017 Why not try and find a 'gadget' that will stick over it. It probably had something there to hold some tech/phone/games console thing. Failing that, some stick on faux carbon fibre? It is an ST after all
andymc1973 199 Posted October 26, 2017 Any ideas on what type of holder guys
Stephen 21 Posted October 26, 2017 http://www.howtocleanstuff.net/how-to-remove-super-glue-from-plastic-and-vinyl/ worth a read
rich89 11 Posted October 26, 2017 Scrape as much off as you can, key it up, mask the area (big area) and buy some wrinkle paint and blend it out. Will be 100 times better than that and will barely be noticeable/take your eye away from it.
andymc1973 199 Posted October 26, 2017 hi guys not really a matter of removing it as the trim/dash guy has been out, just really something to cover it
justina3 518 Posted October 27, 2017 You will have to paint at least some of it then pop into halfords they have a fair selection of mobile phone holders just get the one with the biggest base to it
Rory RSC 596 Posted October 27, 2017 Flock the dash and then put some stripes on the car and a big wing.

grant8064 219 Posted October 27, 2017 Had similar on a Fiesta ST. We filed off as much of the hard gunk as possible, sanded the area flat and then stuck some carbon effect wrap over it. Looked perfect on a twatty ST
James Bush 95 Posted October 27, 2017 (edited) We've used Goo Gone in the past and it works OK and then finished with a bit of texture paint and make a "feature" out of the radio surround area. I think anything like a phone holder to go over it will have to be HUGE to cover it. Edited October 27, 2017 by James Bush
andymc1973 199 Posted October 27, 2017 Auto data has 5 hours down to change the top of the dash, is that not a huge over estimate
