BHM 994 Posted July 21, 2017 I don't swap texts with potential customers but I cut & paste this into eBay messages whenever I need to - funnily enough I've yet to meet one of these bottom dollar merchants.

Cause we all know that offering Cash tonight gets you a better deal!!
BHM 994 Posted July 22, 2017 Doesn't it!! Also when they feel the need to tell you; "I'm a serious man" (yeah right!) "I've an unlimited budget" (in person, on his hands & knees, inspecting the tyres on a £600 banger) "I'm not a messer" (normally followed by "I'll have to speak to the Mrs.) "I'll come NOW for the right deal" (Then ask whereabouts in the country you are, normally followed by "How close is that to London/Birmingham?") "I'm not fussy, I'm only buying it for a couple of months cos I've a new Audi/BMW/Merc on order" (in person, crawling all over the car & worrying about it only having 6 months MOT) To summarise, if I'm reincarnated I will NOT have a job dealing with the general public. NoMargin 11 Posted July 23, 2017 17 hours ago, MrC said: What if they offer "Cash tonight mate" ? Cause we all know that offering Cash tonight gets you a better deal!! They always use that word 'CASH', 'what's your best cash price ', or' will you take £1000 cash ' for a car that's up for £2000. Like I'll be interested in taking their benefit money, wonga loan, fake pinkys
CJ Underhill 34 Posted July 24, 2017 I tell them its more expensive if they want to pay cash, as it costs more to bank the bloody stuff
ik1980 11 Posted July 24, 2017 I find the best option is to change the way we handle these types of people. I just ignore them, or simply ask them to come and view the car first. I 'work' in residential property management and lettings. I have to deal with these types for years sometimes if they rent a property long term. Its not worth stressing over. Dan W 57 Posted July 29, 2017 We remind the customer that the Car is priced correctly and that's the reason you are looking at it. If you are not happy with the price then good luck with your search. Usually get two reactions the timewasters move on as expected, genuine buyers tend to try a much smaller offer than before, what you wouldn't even knock £50 off !! Mat C 77 Posted July 29, 2017 Why would anyone ignore an enquiry? I just don't understand? It takes seconds to reply.

It takes seconds to reply. you surprise me but im going to answer you you are selling a niche product to people that are looking for your type of product these things are never cheap even if red robbo threw the gearbox in himself therefore unless you advertise other cars on your site or p/x to clear stuff you wont get the scrotes contacting you see its really simple im hoping the reason you started specialising was because you saw an opening and realised that the people you were going to deal with were up the pecking order

Mat, the pig **** ignorant low ball "give you £300" by text are the epitome of scum. The inquiry they have sent isn't an inquiry, its them personally spitting in your face by text. Dealing with cretins like that isn't worth a second thought apart from DELETE. If they really want to buy the car they will call and correspond in a polite effective manner. Occasionally it's worth replying just to take the piss but it's easier ignoring them. Here's an example, why should I reply to this cretin who seems oblivious to the price and basic grammar. Arfur Dealy 823 Posted July 29, 2017 If you just want "last price" you miss the point on quality. The UK offers quality. Our economy doesn't work on a barter society, the UK is one of the most advanced economies in the world, that's why you came here so don't compare a UK Retailer to your country. Show some respect. Mat C 77 Posted July 30, 2017 We all pay through the nose for advertising, All I read is people moaning about how much it costs, and then you get an enquiry from your expensive advertising who is a chancer who low balls you and you send him abusive messages or just completely ignore him? It just baffles me. Courtesy costs nothing and a reply takes seconds. I guess i'm different. I reply to every enquiry, low ball or not, with a quick, courteous response. Sometimes.....believe it or not....... they come and buy a car.....
