  1. I'm pleased to say, I now don't know what you are talking about! After jumping ship approx 4 months ago and maintaining the same level of business we was whilst with AT! I feel so happy to not be part of their brainwashed customer base! Again I say to people; VOTE WITH YOUR WALLET!!!
  2. Yes, we have seen this, we hate selling diesels as the majority mainly fords, if come back cost us a fortune. We are 98% petrol now!
  3. Yep, ive just got my receipt through, must admit it is an excuse of a receipt tho! As for the trade plate holders, they have a safety strap in case the suction holder failed.
  4. Enjoyed this, very entertaining! Two totally different environments!
  5. Got my new suction trade plate holders from direct supplies and secured my old ally trade plates to them, very cheap n nasty and hope they will last! Not really £70 worth but then, what do we expect nowadays!
  6. Never found a good one yet after trying several! Better to save all those £50 or £60's and use it to sort the cars yourself. You end up with another profit at the end of the year! If the warranty co decides its wear n tear & don't want to cough up, you may still be liable and have to pay to sort it yourself anyway!
  7. Hi, sent my cheque off for £165 middle December as I do every year for my annual trade plate renewal and not heard anything back yet. I don't think we are going to get the little triangle anymore? I would have thought that we would still get some sort of receipt to show we are legal again? Anyone else having same issue? Thanks..
  8. We worked out that the advertising on AT wasn't covering its cost.As everything we sell is very low miles, all we got from the AT reps was going on about how expensive WE were! Christ, rich coming from them!!! Just a ruthless organisation that is fuelled by greed! Since we have left, we are selling as many cars but without their big expense so are very happy with our position at this time. The more people I speak to, the more I realise how many have dropped them, far more than I had realised. If this continues then the dealers will be back in the driving seat! Not that it really matters to me as I really have had enough!
  9. Our new suction holders have just arrived, do look flimsy I must admit! 'Jamslug' comment made me chuckle lol! I am hoping once plates are attached they should stiffen up. Can anyone tell me if we still get the triangle with renewal or have they done away with that aswell as the tax disc? Cheers.
  10. The more people that drop autotrader the better...........lets turn the tables so they need us more than we need them!
  11. Hi again, I have just ordered these and will be receiving them on Monday 22nd Dec, I will report on here how good they are! Hope this solves the problem. They are suction fit and also have a strap to shut in the bonnet/tailgate just in case. Cant seem to copy & paste but look on here, they are the ones that are £55.55+vat directsupplyukltd.co.uk
  12. I have had magnetic plates for yrs and have recently been told these are illegal as they don't cover the original plates. I recently thought about this whilst registering with the Dartford tunnel payment scheme. I thought to myself, if the original plates are visible, this could trigger a fine, although going through on trade plates. I am now looking at suction ones to fit over the top.
  13. Time To Jump Ship Like Many Of Us Have! Still Selling Plenty Of Cars Aswell!
  14. We used to use Loot & also freeads! then guess what........it got bought out by autotrader and renamed Adtrader and they try to charge for most of it!
  15. That's it, a little loophole is what we are after!
  16. Oh dear, we are still none the wiser!....... Come on, someone on here must know the definite answer to this one?
  17. Totally agree GG, someone on here must know the answer to this? I have been readin up but can't seem to come to a conclusion on this one!
  18. As a dealer, you could tax the car with green slip, use it for a year and when tax expired put the car up for sale without adding another keeper to the reg doc. Do you think it's still possible to do this or will the car not count as taxed as it's not officially registered to you?
  19. The 'motors' rep phoned me recently to introduce himself and run through a few functions. What a nice polite guy! Was so much nicer than the rep from 'you know who' telling me how I'm running my business wrong and what I should be doing! Overpowering me and trying to screw even more money from me! Surely with the price going up again in the new year this must make people realise enough is enough and we are not working purely for their benefit!
  20. Save yourself a lot of cash and forget autotrader! Many of us have been there, done that, wasted money and been told by their reps how many hits on our cars we get, full page views etc etc......... But hang on.....where's the sales & the money rolling in? Motors.co.uk is a fraction of the price and giving us a good living, along with eBay motors pro. Don't get caught up in the Autotrader money drain...you will regret it!
  21. Hi guys, I did put a thread on here recently about this subject, I too was worried about dropping AT after 12 years. Guess what.....we are doing better than ever since we cancelled! we went with motors.co.uk and we get a fair few leads & sales. Its a fraction of the cost and its nice not to have some money grabbing machine attitude person always on your back telling you how good they are and making promises of help, telling you how dear you are(although selling proper, low mileage cars) compared with all the others as an average, many selling their cat C & D vehicles. They can tell me i'm dear but i'm not allowed to tell them!!! Many other dealers have finally got the hump with them now and are finally pulling the plug! Final straw for me was the 'Direct Debit Dirty Trick'! A quick way of having us over and expecting us to be daft enough to sit back and take it! I have been recording down where all our leads come from for some time and its surprising how ebay motors pro has picked up aswell, great value and does return us some good sales. I am so glad I have cancelled my largest overhead that was not producing us what you would expect for the cost. We have 40 cars in stock and things are ticking along nicely now. I urge anyone advertising on AT to do yourself a log sheet and monitor it and you may be surprised like we were how well it DOESNT work!
  22. I heard manheims had some big involvement with motors.co.uk now so maybe things will change what with their TV advertising campaign. I think us dealers should all club together, pull out of AT as we did with the magazine years ago, the tune then changed!
  23. Same here, I have been paying my invoices after "termination" letters every time, I have finally had enough now after 14 yrs and have handed my cancellation of contract! I am absolutely sick of the greed and scheming way they work for customers, carefully trying to plan the next way of screwing us over! That's it, enough is enough, we have heard that "motors.co.uk is becoming strong now, with a blitz on TV advertising maybe these are the ones to give AT a swift kick up the @rse! We are signing up with them, it's a lot cheaper so worth a go!
