I understand if this post isn't welcome here as I have seen some rather lovely glossy adverts in CDM which wouldn't have come cheap. Anyway I told everyone I was leaving AT, I have been without them for 1 month now. Currently not looking back. I thought that the quiet X-Mas period combined with dropping the number 1 lead generator would cause me to have to hibernate until January. How wrong was I !!! I have been so so busy. I am not looking back. On another note, I haven't been anywhere near their site for a month so I went back to it as I wanted to find a car at another dealership and my god hasn't it changed for the worse. I am struggling to find the car I needed to find with all these new sub menus and things. AND WE ARE SUPPOSED TO KNOW IT BEST . What is a new user going to think? I am so glad I am out. When is anyone else going to follow ?

Oh ideal. Sounds like a good way to source. Do you prefer MFLdirect or autorola?

Well its still early days to tell properly. Motors does deliver lots of leads and I am still selling which is the main thing. It will quiet down for Christmas so I shall see what happens in the new year. The main thing for a small chap like me is losing that £1200 bill every month, regardless of the number of leads it still has to get paid. It would be great if they did a pay per lead system for smaller dealers, but they don't.

Hi everyone Autorola have a car I want to buy but I have never done business with them before. I haven't even heard of them before now to be honest. If anyone has any experience with them, I would really appreciate it if you could share that with me. Thanks, James

I'm not on Autotrader anymore (you do not have to be on AT to sell cars) . Motors, Ebay, AA cars, RAC cars are all available for a fraction of the price.

I phoned him and he assured me that there were no engine or gear box problems. I asked him if he was a trader and his response was... "no I am a private seller".... Now if you were a private seller, you wouldn't use that terminology to describe yourself would you?

Check out his ebay. He is selling a BMW too, and he has a few recent feedbacks from recent car transactions. He is a trader.

I am carefully considering whether centralizing everything in to one dms is a good idea? This is what I require: CRM, Vehicle prep costs, feeding to advertising sites. Can you let me know what you use and what your thoughts are. I only know about dragon at the moment. Thanks, Guyz

I got it for £3 per check. I would go back to them, say you are leaving for Experian and they should lower the price.

Good idea if your not doing it on a large scale. Only pay for what you use.

A load of crap. They are awful to work with too. I was rolled in to a 12 month contract without notice and received 1 lead in that period. I wouldn't not wish this on my worst enemy. I stopped paying after a couple months without any leads. They threatened court action. In the end I was on the beach in Florida when some cow phoned me and basically said I was going to court. I was like ..."ummm no i'm not though" "I AM ON HOLIDAY I WILL SORT IT OUT WHEN I GET BACK... and how did you get my private phone number anyway.... and did you not hear the international dialling tone?" She said that they will apply for a Court judgement if I don't pay right now. I couldn't believe it. I hate them and so should everyone else.

What avenue do you reckon I should explore that I might not have thought of already ? Thanks, James

I mentioned on Twitter Car Dealers that I had told my rep that I was going to be leaving. It has been something I have been thinking about for a good 12 months and everyone always talks about how they are going to do it and how much they hate AT and they are evil giants. Well no one is doing anything about it. I was waiting for someone to do it first and then I would follow suit...... BUT NO ONE DID IT. So I have done it on my own. You all moan, but still pay your invoice every month don't you? After a VERY long phone conversation and some retention deals, I stuck to my guns and said no. I now have just over 4 weeks left before my adverts come off autotrader. I am going to put a little more time and effort into Facebook. Online classifieds are going to be Motors, RAC cars and maybe ebay and a new website that is currently under construction. I am going to be using the local paper too. I am really excited to see what results are going to come from this and can't wait to see what difference it makes to my profit. I am full prepared if I see a negative impact, if that is the case I will phone my rep and say, 'look, you were right, I am coming back' . But how do I truly know unless I give it a go? If anyone else decides to join me let me know . James

You could use their quoting system and cover levels ? Their portal works out the best level of cover available and also the premium which I think varies with make and model . So you could charge the customer their quote and supply them with the level of cover warranty wise supply?
