it was said by boris this evening that they will be watching the r number for at least a year, he also said that next week he will give details on how the lockdown will be lifted, not any details on when, in regard to "restrictions" my opinion  is at least 18 month [asked about face masks he said that may be a good thing] so if the r was to raise by bringing back none essential business then it could be 12 month, other than that my crystal ball is all fogged up :(

What about the lottery number then  with the crystal ball lol Nicola sturgeon says she can't even see anything being resisted here in Scotland yet next week a friend of mind who is working in a construction company has had a letter hoping for there return in 2 weeks can't see it myself I've another mate who works for another company  and a  brother who is sub contracted to another business through his company and there saying mid June a lot of industry work is going to suffer not just car sales I predict

I can’t see being able to get back to the block in the near future?

As I understand it any sort of ‘vaccine’ is a year away and even then they have found various strains of the virus as it mutates. Testing is great but only indicates if you have either had it or currently have symptoms. You won’t get immunity by having a test?

Its would need be regular testing i guess

    Here is a update:)

So to reduce all overheads, and, watch cashflow, i started at the top.

Few week ago i contacted the landlords, by phone, i would have preferred eye to eye, [ previous to the call a email was sent, no reply ] on the phone i find office staff are "off" ?

I explained in detail about "none essential" and it was if the chaps had never even heard of lock-down ? other than they had to queue in the bank 2 metre apart, i explained i was being "forward looking in my plan" and not burying my head, i asked for 50% reduction for the next quarter, at this point i was requestioned why ? so repeated the scenario, drawing particular attention to my thinking this is not a 3 week lock-down for us, i was told i would be rung back, it was vaguely infered that 50% could be setback 3 month, which i refused citing thats just putting a debt forward and i did not want a rent "holiday".

Over 25 years at my place, and being tidy, good payer etc expected a call, now do not get me wrong this place ticks most boxes, and last year i gambled and expanded, and it had proved a good move, and would be very difficult to find similar, [ don't tell the landlords that ! :D ] that is, of course, today, tomorrow may be different ?

Leaving it a while, let the news seep in a bit further, let them see the shops closing etc, i wrote a letter, explaining in detail again, my proposal, even enclosed a sae for prompt reply !

That was last Wednesday, no reply, not even decent enough to state yes, or repay in 3 month, or no, not all.

They have no mortgages on these properties by the way, on checking my property this week, one business has "disappeared" and another is in the process of moving out, neither i know, the landlords know about !

So, mmmm, thanks landlord, "all in it together"? doubt it, time for a rethink.........

Its only common decent of them to give you an answer at least .

What's your prediction? when the lockdown is going to be lifted and we can start selling cars and vans again without the  restrictions.

Christmas time before all restrictions are lifted is mine . Although hoping to be some time in June .. with restrictions in place I think May is optimistic

No apparently the mechanic doesn't get any discount i heard them on the phone. You get more discount as joe public with online discount codes.

Problem with euro wrong parts is they always send the wrong ones and due to everything being delivery only I dont want to delay.

Also the dpf light came on the other night and i went for a run in it and it went off. I am going off guard with this lockdown

I would do that... But am too fat and I might not get up. Missus doesn't know how to use a jack to lift me up... She'll end up dropping the jack that's holding the car... So I'll end up under it

I always find alliance automotive better than euro for getting parts correct ive only even had the wrong parts once for a  corsa and it was my fault cause i presumed it never had abs and it. Did

Ring your local parts supplier and ask them to look at the OE site from the reg. failing that they send me both options and charge for the ones I require

Hi guys got a Jag xf and the discs need doing.

Looking at the factors sites there are two sizes - 322mm and 356mm.

How do i find out which size mine are without taking them off and measuring them? I rather buy myself and save the discount as the mechanic says he doesnt get any.

Obviously I would have rang the dealer up but they're closed.

Im the same as lucky with my main parts suppliers or the ones i dont use much credit me the ones i dont use

my main parts supplier alliance have the dealer link computer give that a try

    @Casper

Cancel your contracts for your home services.

When you get put through to retentions they will give you a discount. My virgin was £53 pm. They offered me £38.

Anyways after i did this i found out if i gave my 30 day notice to cancel they would have continuously rang me up saying we will do it for £25.

My son moved in and virgin let him so a transfer and its on his name at £28 now.

If you stay quiet like a mouse every organisation will increase your price. You got to haggle them.

Ive did it before when it was it need of repairs i plan to cancel bt and go with sky everything there broadband and tv package was a lot better than bt was offering  as you say it pays to haggle its like the paddy power ad says loyalty is gone live for rewards

    thanks for all your advice

Im with virgin. If you got home broadband with virgin you can get a discount sometimes.

I think o2 is the only with uk call centre. It might have changed.

Its good to know this as all others are based in India or Philippines. And if you got a problem good luck explaining to them  when they keep repeating off a script

We cant get virgin home broadband in the area with bt for that have been years but looking at changing to sky after lockdown as paying way over the odds because tv and broadband with different providers

Any the times  I've spoke to customer services its uk call centres with o2 thats one of the reason I've have stay with them and don't mind paying a little more i honestly cant fault the customer service over the years .

My best mate the same one whos missus is with vodafone is with virgin and his happy enough with and his son his with three and seems happy

theres so much choice. Now ive got a three phones with o2 actually my dad has one i gave him  and both my personal and business mobile both are .

Many thanks i hope your well .

Quite a lot I suspect. Many seem to think things will revert back to as they were when lockdown lifts. I think they may be rudely surprised.

Thats not going to happen next week as you say will take years .

I used to only buy reg vardy p/x's they had cracking ones and they nearly always went for what you bid or you waited till the next day and learned all bids accepted

    Happy days long gone

Yeah we bought some as-well back in the day as well as a business partner i had at the time .

The Polish (and the Russians) are some of the most determined mechanics you will ever meet. Nothing scares them off. They will strip a RHD car and rebuild it as LHD. Outside in a muddy yard in the middle of a blizzard.

Thats the kind of lads i would like to employ and most will work round the clock aswell .  Problem is how do you find them cause once someone has one like that they dont want to let them go

Unfortunately I’m locked into the Apple “experience” having got iPads.

Just upgraded to the iPhone 11, pretty similar to the 8 to be honest.

Been with Vodafone since the year dot so always get a good loyalty discount.

If you are changing networks always buy online. Sometimes distance selling is a good thing!

Thanks David ..it was the latest se 2020 i was looking at actually which i think is similar to the 8. Im like you an always had apple phones and tablets of recent years was with vodafone years ago but they didnt get good signal here back them so was only there around 6 months then back to 02 about 9 years ago was with them a good 12 years before that  but vodafone have resolved it now as my mates missus is with them and only lives a few streets away
