  1. I have a viewing tomorrow morning with someone who seems to be sensible and asks the right questions. Wait and see if he takes it if not i might add a few hundred quid on see if i get any nibbles
  2. I think we will be taking the next step in the coming months and getting a unit. We have a few options both the same size and both presentable inside but one is in a poor area compared to a much better area in the other unit. The one in the poor area is nearly half the price of the one in the nice area. Both are around 3000 sqft Is it worth the extra overhead for a nice location or shouldn't it matter as long as the cars speak for themselves. Just curios of other peoples thoughts.
  3. Haha its brilliant i love it. Meanwhile had a customer today tell me the car i was selling was priced to cheap so there must be something wrong with it. When i asked if they would be more interested if i doubled the price they didn't seem to see the funny side. Meanwhile its still sat outside (Yes it is cheap but only because i got it cheap in PX deal. Cant win with some people)
  4. I love the WBAC argument. Had a gentlemen tell me a car i had for sale was only worth £1000 on WBAC but he would give me £1800 ( Like he was doing me a favour) Car was advertised for £2895 at the time
  5. I see your in walsall there is a good exhaust shop we use a lot on the outskirts of the city centre. Not sure if im allowed to say the name on here but fee free to pm me and i will pass the details over
  6. Do you mind me asking which insurance company you was with to get such a quote i agree this is fairly reasonable and i have a young driver i could do with adding to the policy. ( Can PM me if its easier for you) In answer to your question i dont think the plod will be to bothered your insured to drive the vehicle. its the insurance company you would need to speak with. Maybe have your dad draw up a contract that details you as a voluntary worker ?
  7. Makes perfect sense now you put it like that. As long as they sell i don't mind what day of the week it is . Speaking of Tuesdays i have a car to go and clean for a viewing tonight and if the rain would bugger off that would be brilliant as well.
  8. Im doing good this month 3 cars for us which is above normal as a small part time trader. However i can only sell cars on Tuesdays apparently phone dosent ring any other day of the week apart from Mondays and Tuesdays and everyone wants to view Tuesday night
  9. Very interesting and thanks for coming back to me with that information. I didn't know about the FCA side of things so ill tread carefully with how i promote it and where i offer it. I would be happy providing a warranty on all of our cars but not to all of our customers
  10. I have been on the phone to them yesterday evening and they are sending me out a booklet for me to look over. Thanks for everyone's advise.
  11. Couldn't agree more and if i was a consumer i wouldn't want to hear about the or read through the CRA either. The customer i was trying to explain it to was concerned about something going wrong and having no cover when i pointed out the CRA. I like to try and give the customer "that fuzzy feeling" i am waiting on a call back from lawgistics and i will take it from there. Thanks for your comments
  12. I find Facebook so hit and miss. I think it is all about getting a few people to click on your listing as soon as it goes up. If they do it stays at the top of the list for a while and have loads of the " is this still available messages" Have had a bit of success but mainly with the cheaper cars. Had over 100 messages about a spares or repair cooper s that wasnt that cheap but it sold.
  13. Thanks i will get in touch with him and see if he can help. Completely understand with the CRA but i had a customer the other week who i think felt i was lying to him about the CRA and lost a sale as i couldn't provide a warranty. Since sold the car anyway but want to try and provide as much a i can to a customer to get the best reputation possible
  14. I have done a search and seen a few people have a few different opinions Lawgistics, A1 etc. I was slightly confused about the booklet side of things to give to the customer do the relevant providers have something we can print of and provide ?
  15. I have only recently created this account but i have been trading for around 10 months now as well as having a full time job. We have a steady turn over of cars and have been doing okay so far working from home fortunately we have a fair amount of storage at our house. The next step i think for me is to be able to offer a warranty to seem more professional and also put the customers mind at ease a little What or who do you all use for some sort of warranty booklet to give to the clients . I have been reading online and understand you can use a company like lawgistics but would prefer to have a self administered warranty Would you suggest offering it as an additional cost or standard with every purchase ? Our main cars are the early R50/52/53 minis with low mileage. Few fiestas and BMW here and there as well. We give all the vehicles a once over and always fix anything broken so i don't think we would receive many warranty claims but i don't want to get burnt by one bad claim either Hoping someone will be able to help and apply some insight.
  16. Apologies that really wasn't my intention. I have been reading the forum in the background for a while and thought i would create an account. Apologies if i offended anyone. I have created a new thread with my queery.
