the permissions section, from memory I think it's limited permission credit broking, then additional regulated activities debit adjusting & debt counselling (both with limitations). Agree as above though, finance rep will help a lot. Process is pretty straight forward but the questions are so far round the bush it's easy to misunderstand or miss something

We use DA quite regularly and only ever had one real issue. Got there, asked to drive the car, crunching in 3rd but managed to negotiate £800 reduction and gearbox cost us £350 so ended up better off. Picked up one today (as described) and going to pickup another on Tuesday. Fingers crossed!! Like everything, you have to take it with a pinch of salt. There are good and bad cars on dealer auctions and the same can be said about the dealers on there

We're giving it a chance anyway. Managed to do £260 pmonth for 20 cars for 6 months.

Still very quiet here too! :-(

We just renewed with ebay/gumtree combined £227 is an offer for customers currently using Ebay only (some sort of legacy deal) to get them to switch to Ebay/Gumtree combined. As we started with a combined package the lowest price they could offer us was roughly £430 per month + VAT for both, 20 car package (in reality it's up to 25).

Hi all We use the personal account for marketplace however I'm pretty sure you can do it from your business page by adding your cars to your 'shop' tab on your page. Haven't tried it myself but keep seeing prompts for it. Also, we use click dealer for our website and they've just launched an Accelerator pack for a bolt on per month which includes business page marketplace adds fed from your website ads

Thank you all for your responses. Think we will be politely declining at the offered £335 p/month for 12 months for 20 cars but may consider if they can re-think the price

Bought a car on DA... wouldn’t allow short test drive?!
RJEauto replied to GentlemanJames's topic in General Dealer Chat
We also buy from DA. Cars are paid for prior to collection as normal but we insist on thorough inspection and short test drive when we get there just in case. Definitely worth doing as one of the first cars we purchased from there had a gearbox issue, noticed and re-negotiated based on this for £800 discount. Had we have just drove from site they wouldn't have even discussed it. OP, I would've done the the same -
Hi All, Never had any luck with the free Car Gurus but recently were upgraded for a month as a "free trial". Had a few leads including phone calls and one sale. Now the trial is over they're pushing for us to continue using this paid package which I would like to do however I'm not sure the price they are quoting is competitive. For those using paid Car Gurus packages, is it worth while / are you getting quality leads and deals? For those who don't mind sharing what are you paying per month, feel free to PM me? We stock roughly 20 cars so the quote they've given is based on this. Thanks, Kelly

Transporters/recovery truck... shall I buy one?!
RJEauto replied to GentlemanJames's topic in General Dealer Chat
We have ours for sale around the £6k mark if any is interested in buying one, PM me -
We have 2 cars showing "mileage discrepancy" but I cannot see a discrepancy in the mileage it's flagging up! Also had this message today regarding a PX we took in last week and decided to retail, we cleared the finance on handover: "Is it still available? Is there any outstanding finance on this vehicle please? Autotrader suggests there may be. I would like to know this before l decide to travel from Hereford to look/test drive" Although I'm happy with the cost saving I think this could potentially cost a deal or at least deter some of our leads so will have to think about keeping it in place.

Would also recommend Click Dealer

Hi All, Done our first 2 finance deals yesterday. One with £400 commission, one with £120. Question is, how do you record this for VAT purposes? Do I have to include the commission in my sale price and therefore increase my margin VAT or do I input a monthly invoice for the finance commission, if so, does this attract any payable VAT? Thanks Kelly

Still really quiet for us at the moment! Still only 3 for the month, not where we want to be.

Feb started slow for us! Only 2 gone out and one deposit so far. Going away next weekend so hoping to get a few done before then. Aiming for 10 but short on stock so we'll see how it plays out. -Kelly-

Thank you all for your advice. Will get some Rep's in this week and see how it goes

Hi All, After working myself up for month's about submitting our FCA application I finally did it last Tuesday (22nd). With some guidance notes from a local finance rep it was relatively straight forward and painless. I set myself up to be waiting a month or two at least before receiving approval so I was astounded to see the email today saying we're good to go, less than a week from submission!! Few questions now if you can help / don't mind sharing - for anyone that doesn't want information public but is happy to help, please pm me What finance companies are you mainly using for prime and sub-prime? What sort of average commission should I be expecting from 4-7k stock? Appreciate that will vary depending on amount of business being put through but would be good to see some indication for someone very new to the industry. Thanks in advance -Kelly-

Thanks AD Yes I have thought about this. At the time of sale customer (in jail) thought it was best for his partner to be registered keeper so it's her name on original invoice and logbook and therefore her who will receive the refund and sign a disclaimer to relinquish ownership and therefore purchase rights in regard to said vehicle on receipt of partial refund Thanks all for your comments and advice it really is appreciated

Unfortunately I was hoping to take this stance. However, vehicle showing same fault signs before the accident to showing now. Also, collision was minor and has already been settled by van driver company (BT) so they would uphold the matter is resolved if they tried to claim through insurance

Hi Mojo, Honestly, it has been hands down the most stressful few months of my life! Everything takes longer than you expect it to. Things happen when you least expect them to and sales come in waves of peaks and troughs. However, the satisfaction is great for me as I'm supporting Ryan doing what he's always wanted to do. For a new starter, I think you need to be really passionate about the industry and prepared for the reality that comes with it. The guy (in jail) partner/wife. So she's the one that will be receiving the refund.
