These guys have phoned me loads of times. Policies are very cheap but as I guessed they are clearly not worth the paper they are written on

MOT advises do my head in...pass it or fail it

1990 Volvo 940 2.3 SE Estate. We bought it with 220k on it. Sold it no problem. It was a local car so I used to see the punter every now and then. I think it did 350k by the time he passed it on. We used to sell loads of 740/940/850 Estate Volvos. Bought them direct from main dealer always with high miles and FSH...but the dog hairs in some

This is how my father and grandfather operated. Monday morning at the main dealers with a pile of readies to buy all the weekend p/x's. When I learned to drive my grandfather would take me to pick up cars when the main dealer was closed, I was always asked to wait outside the office while he paid Such a different game then..no VAT, zeroed mileages for 'high mileage cars' which was legal then as long as you had a disclaimer sticker The local mayor of the town once bought a car from my grandfather. "Can you knock 40k miles off the speedo before I pick it up' was the mayor's parting words Sorry went way off topic The double stock helps us in Jan as long as the country not covered in snow...

Refund and move on The AA report will rip a car like that to pieces

As we do Never had a charge back or even come close in the 15 years we have used a card machine If you deal with warranty issues yourself and correctly a customer will never need to "chargeback" As regard the fees...it's a cost of business Having said that we encourage customers to give a £200 deposit on debit card and bank transfer the balance

We once found a 2 foot long double ended rubber dildo curled around the spare wheel of a Peugeot 405 taken in px. Previous owner never came back with any warranty issues on the one he bought from us!. Most recent find was a self sealer containing what looked like coke... I'm saving up all the old style pound coins for xmas.

I've had a couple and they romped away. Must have spec on though I've recently taken in an 2009 with 38k on. We had to rebuild it... rear axle, brakes, shockers, arms, tailgate handle etc All on last MOT advises and customer was aware so I nicked it in p/x Beware the older ones when buying! Take a good luck underneath and the MOT

It is a pain in the arse! We currently use Easy Dealer spreadsheet. £40 per year and does all we need it do to. But this won't be any use in April unless the developer comes up with a "bridge" to HMRC. I understand all the big software developers will have a bridge. But most don't work for the margin scheme. Either ways it's going to cost us all me thinks! If Easy Dealer develop a bridge I will let you know. Its perfect for smaller dealers

We have a lovely 1987 W124 in stock at the moment...the build quality is just amazing. Built to last a lifetime It cost 25k in 1987 which was terrace house money! Tried to post a picture but the file is too big

Think new traders are getting confused myself over the need to earn a PROFIT Strange times . Well said. My theory is cheap money We could do with an interest rate rise

I'm in the sub 9k group Interesting you mention the Nigeria chap. The price old 4x4's fetch amaze me. I guess a fair few are being exported. The online auctions do have lower charges but I have watched BCA online and although the car prices are lower by the time auction fees are added total price is similar. At least with the online sites you get to try before handing over ££ when collecting, which is a must with the cheaper stuff

Hi All Long time watcher of this forum and thought it's about time I contribute! We are not finding the market that bouyant over the last couple of weeks but I have a few spaces to fill (current stock 19 cars) I buy from Dealer Auction & Sytner mainly. The prices the last couple of weeks are ridiculous. I can't see there is any margin after recon. Even the tatty stuff It's obvious everyone is chasing the same type of stock but how do they earn a profit? Answers on a postcard... John
