I don’t see how Autotrader’s desirability is accurate now they have removed the invoice function. Do you guys all remove and mark the car sold as soon as you sell it? I don’t. Unless nowadays they calculate the desirability on ad views alone which is ridiculous. I can’t see how the 1-5 stars is even remotely accurate

I’m up for some of this too!
-
Am I understanding this right.. You put the paint on thick then use this Festool to cut it back once its gone off?
-
I think it’s bang on the money personally
-
Lol, he’ll tell you to knock the 3 off
-
Possibly! Are ebay punters that clever though? Lol
-
You’re spot on here. I’ve done it a few times recently. However, ebay customers are a whole different breed. They will still moan even if the car is half price!
-
Less than half accepted? Wow
-
I don’t suppose your name is benji by any chance?
-
Let the floodgates open... this is gonna be a good one! I’m assuming you have switched your phone on?

The clutches in these always start to fail around 60k. You’re better of buying one with 80-90k on it, knowing it’s had a clutch change already.
-
The juddering isn’t the clutch. This can be calibrated using Citroen/Peugeot Lexia diag tool.
-
Clutch change is expensive, depends on your hourly rate. It’s around an 8 hour job. Could be actuator but doubt it, either way it’s not cheap. My advice here would be take it to someone who knows what they’re talking about. You don’t wanna pay for a clutch change and it turns out to be the actuator or vice versa.

I’ve sold loads of these and experienced pretty much every possible issue lol. They behave in this way when the clutch needs changing. Assuming it’s the semi automatic version?
-
Yeah I agree. Even if you find somewhere thats ideal, they prob wont want motor trade!
-
"You buy it, take it away and DONT COME BACK" lol superb. Had me laughing good and proper that lol
-
Wow. You done well to sell that! lol

It’s 2014. Apparently the Kia warranty doesn’t cover wrote offs!

I have a guy interested in part exchanging a cat d kia pro c'eed. He is interested in a car that I have had stuck in stock for a while. I hit him in the balls with a part ex price which he has accepted. However ive not been involved with write offs of this value before. Am I asking for trouble?

Good point. I have since heard of some horror stories surrounding these boxes, think ill steer clear in the future!

Dave, did you see many of the Nissan CVT boxes? I bought a Qashqui a few month back with 50k on it - the box was whinning like crazy when it warmed up. I thought it was gonna be a worn bearing but it wasn't whinning all the time so eventually I changed the oil with Nissan CVT fluid and this did the trick! Sold the car and all is well. Still feel like I dodged a bullet with that one though.

Same here David, worst month by far this year
-
Its not 2 months. I sold it a month ago and he phoned me 2 weeks later. So he had only had it 2 weeks
-
Thanks for your replies. I have a copy of the invoice - it looks like £40 was charged as they went out to him to test the original battery and fit the new one!
-
About a month ago I sold a C4 picasso to a guy who lives about 75 miles away. He phoned me a couple weeks later to say the car won’t start. I told him it’s likely to be the battery (which it was). Anyway I told him I’d cover the cost of a new one, either go to Euro’s and fit it yourself or try halfords as they will fit it for you. Either way it’s about £80, I’ve changed loads of battery’s on these and they’re always about the same price. Anyway, he said he’d rather use his local garage. I said that’s fine but when they find out it’s under warranty they will slap you with a massive bill and I’m not having that! He said no they’re a good garage who don’t rip people off! (Lol) Anyway this morning I received a sign for letter from him for £180 for a new battery (fitted). He’s already paid this and wants me to transfer it to him. Clearly a piss take. Whats the best way to go about this?
