  1. Eh? 75% of the stuff in the Lawgistics pads are MOT items. Brakes, suspension, lights, tyres and yeah, emissions.
  2. I knew what you were getting at mate. You’re saying that if the punter “hears” something or is looking for monsters under the bed, you can reassure them with “don’t worry, we’ll get that looked into and sorted for you no prob. Leave a deposit and it will all be sorted for your handover”
  3. That did make me chuckle
  4. I was under the impression that you can’t include any VAT within the purchase price of the car. Nett buyer fees yes but not any VAT charged in sure check or online fees or whatever else they put on top of your hammer price?
  5. It may well be to you and me mate, however weekend warriors that fuck things up and ask where they are going wrong are better off following my initial advice
  6. Spares and repair yet you’re delivering it 320 miles away! That won’t wash. I cant see the problem here. Tell your punter you don’t offer an organised distance selling scheme therefore if they choose not to view the car at your premises they wave their rights under the DSR, all statutory rights remain unaffected. Deliver the car, put a third party warranty on the car and get on with your life. As long as the car is inspected, checked, new ticket, PDI done and customer clear about everything, it’s a sale.
  7. Correct. I’m here to sell cars and the fewest barriers you put up the easier it is.
  8. Yep. Click Dealer is thinking along the right lines and they can see the woods for the trees. But people aren't quite ready to just click and reserve. They will be, in about 10-20 years time I reckon.
  9. Personally I'd be all over that bloke for a £100 repair on that.
  10. Given the fact the lights are clouding i’m Assuming the cars is old and therefore spares are common. If it’s an Aston Martin DBS i’ll requote
  11. I understand mate I do. I’m saying it works for you for whatever reason, stock profile, location, customer profile etc. It wouldn’t work entirely for me, I would have lost sales. One day maybe!
  12. Find a breakers and buy a pair of headlights for fifty quid and spend the time you saved in the pub behaving like a normal human being instead of polishing fucking headlights
  13. Aren’t mini buyers ultra fussy fuckers, gotta be this colour with those wheels and those bonnet stripes
  14. I think Dave was referring to the OP. “Mates” is a reference to our resident newbie, perennial i’d say, despite hoards of useful advice, Lucas.
  15. Get back in your box in the private room please
  16. I record 2. Hammer to on sale. On sale to sold. The latter is 35 days and the former around 4 days. 39 is my average days to turn.
  17. I think it must be your stock type or something then. I know for a fact if I tried to operate the same way I would have lost sales, despite being very good (though i say so myself) with online advertising. The amount of times i’ve spoken about the video on the advert to someone and they have said “yeah but I need to see it and drive it” and they have seen it and driven it and bought it, if I hadn’t allowed them that opportunity and insisted on a deposit first they would have walked.
  18. AD, how many more do you think you’d sell if you didn’t operate as you do? 5 more a month? Less?
  19. Absolutely. I think we just talk like that because that’s where it will all ultimately lead. You have to weigh up and decide whether to dig your heels in when the customer is being very unreasonable (dipstick) or, ante up and move on.
  20. I can’t believe stuff like this ever does anything other than improve it. A bit like mopping a deep scratch. If you want it to look original, you need to pay a pdr man.
  21. Yeah I can imagine that suddenly sharpens up their knowledge of the subject!
  22. I also often say that court is to be avoided so yes, agree with you.
  23. I have said this before but from what I have seen and read, trading standards don’t know their arse from their elbow and are definitely not qualified to project opinions about something that even solicitors have a job understanding! For example, to say that “the law says within 30 days a consumer can reject a car if it’s faulty”’shows a lack of understanding or clarification about what the short term right to reject is. People read the party line and think “oh my brake pads have worn down to the limit, i’m giving the car back” when in reality it’s far from that simple.
