  1. 2010 newer ones seem fine..... its 59 plates and below, are absolute trash.... and to be honest.... they are not even good sellers......
  2. yeah, just food for thought guys, I know these cars inside out. the timing chain issues etc and burning oil etc are bull sh*t and expensive fixes, literally all burn clutches like they are going out of fashion. Ticked off my list now.... never again.
  3. I have sold around 30 minis this year. i kid you not, we must have had 24 of them back with some kind of issue and 3-4 with either oil leaks or burning oil I will never ever place an older mini in my stock profile ever again. The 2010 onwards dont seem to bad. as soon as they hit 50-60,000 miles and 8-10 years old they literally fall apart. Rant over, that is all.
  4. Our auto trader has been pretty much dead of late, but we are selling alot off of the front. We are selling lots of BMW m sports - audi s lines etc - any thing run of the mill is getting no attention
  5. We Have done 6 this month now. Not bad for our first november. A very large dealer close by has been struggling last month and this month however so im quite happy to be ticking a long
  6. I bought 2 BMW’s from BCA last month, one after the other, neither had service history listed. I found both service history packs for both cars in the boot of the second car I bought... what is the chance of that
  7. Well it’s been hammering down in Essex today, but suns now out finally and customers beginning to show
  8. Well our best ever month so far In October with 3 today and pushing 15 cars sold with stock of only 12. Starting to get into a groove now with some nice car buying at the auctions sticking to higher grade stuff and taking less risks. Putting some cash away for possibly the quiet winter months now to get me through as it’s my first ever winter and I don’t know what to expect. hows everyone else done?
  9. Most of my cars on my forecourt are £500 - £1000 above auto trader average and I’m selling them straight off the forecourt no problem. I only sell German unless something tasty comes up, agreed I can’t make £2000 in every mini but I am with the other stuff Unless I get a cheap tort ex fiesta in. Most of my cars at 6-10 years old. I’m now averaging £1200 - £2000 per unit now and am thinking of binning off auto trader as Its becoming a dutch auction on there now and I couldn’t make a living competing with their average price guides.
  10. No point reducing prices..... one sale will cover your 2.... I would rather sell 4 cars with £2k profit each than 8 cars with £1k profit each. Don’t become a busy fool.
  11. I only ever sell German, bmw, mini, VW Audi, merc. We have had a lot of bad ones but of course that’s all we sell. as per a previous poster. It’s risk verses reward. Our buying is much better now and we only buy good grade cars at the auction or the assured ones at Aston Barclay. We also buy a fair few private cars from eBay and Facebook but when we sell we aim for £2000 per chassis but we put on a very strong warranty so not to get caught with our trousers down. bmw especially are extremely good sellers and never hang around for more than 30 days.
  12. We are having our best month ever and still 9 days left. 3 this weekend and 5 last weekend. Need to stock up quick time tomorrow and Tuesday but won’t be buying just for the sake of it..... Had a bmw 1 series in stock for 2 days and sold immediately after listing on auto trader.... crazy busy in Rayleigh / Essex
  13. Hi guys I know this has been touched on but Just a few questions on what people are doing? I've noticed software like QuickBooks has the ability to upload your invoices via your phone etc but unsure whether it will be suitable for a car dealership? Vat margin scheme etc. With everything digital upon us by April 2019 does anyone use a really good invoicing solution with stock book etc? I'm struggling with which one to start with. I'm currently using wave online accounting at present but am fear full this isn't going to cut it Grant

  17. Dead for days and days on end. Then 3 deals done within 3 hours on what can only be described as the most miserable day of weather I have seen this decade And all have been walk ons in a total monsoon in Essex....... How’s everyone else’s October so far?
