Simon, Any chance you could let me know the exact layout and wording of all the documents you ensure the customer signs with you as it appears to be watertight when someone buys a car from you. My customers are a pain and maybe i need to tweak exactly what it is i give them and make them sign at point of sale. Good post though fair play!

Customer wants to return the car in a week time
Dealer replied to Car Nation's topic in General Dealer Chat
I'm fed up of these messers that expect a new car for used car money. The likelihood is that the price he's paid is around 10% of what the equivalent new model would cost. What's his expectations of a 12 year old car for God's sake. -
Some mot stations are being made to upgrade their equipment at a considerable cost, new legislation coming in about any dashboard warning lights, i don't know all the details but have heard our tester (owner) speaking about it on a number of occasions over the last few weeks. Definitely going to be a lot tougher.

Half term can generally be quiet, last one was a disaster for us..... Then we had the snow too which really set us back. 3 this week though and 6 last week. We only stock around 40 so im happy with that.

Contact motonovo, close, first response, mallard etc get set up with them, the more options the better.

These people never cease to amaze me, I'm totally fed up of the mentality of these messers, had people yesterday left a deposit over the phone only to turn up and try to get 400 quid off. Moaned about 1 or 2 stone chips on an 8 year old car with 70k on the clock. I'd love to know where these people go next and if they actually end up buying a car. Feel like saying, "I'm sorry sir but we don't sell new used vehicles"

Damn you've spotted me......... Hope the rozzers haven't cottoned on!

My sentiments exactly!

All sorted, air intake pipe was loose, totally different to the code that was being thrown up.

Lemon...... Without a doubt.

Thanks EK, no dpf light on though, think it'll regen itself if I give it a long enough run or would it be better to do a forced regen on it.

I've had this car in stock for a while, came to start it today after taking a deposit on it and it's got an intermittent message on the display saying "restricted performance" however this doesn't seem to affect the running of it and it pulls just as it should. Before I go code reading and live data it etc I was hoping that someone knowledgeable on here would be able to offer any advice if they've experienced this.

Bba are conmen in my opinion, ecu testing or actronics are the the ones I'd normally use.

Fiat Punto Intermittent Steering Wheel Light
Dealer replied to Dealer's topic in General Dealer Chat
I was under the impression that there is a electronic system in these same as the corsa etc -
Had the above vehicle in part exchange this week, used it now in 3 occasions however the steering wheel light came on while driving just once and steering went heavy. Knocked car off and its not done it since. Anyone else experienced these symptoms and know what it's down to, I'm hoping it's a cheap fix such as the battery.

How impatient are your customers?
Dealer replied to R and K Autohouse's topic in General Dealer Chat
I've got a customer who rang me up saying that there's a noise when he moves his steering wheel........ Sounds like it's the clock spring (squib), no mechanic failure, functions just as it should although makes a slight noise which can't be heard on driving, just slow manoeuvring, parking etc. I mean would you get a new one fitted along with a couple of hours labour etc. It's ridiculous, car is 8 years old for God's sake. -
Yep...... Me!

Bmw 2011,100k.......cost over 6k. Absolute cee you next Tuesday's! I'd love to haul them through the small claims process and come out trumps!
-
Oh yes....... I've had enough too if I'm honest, recently been an a class with a knackered auto box and another with a big cost diff fix!
-
They knew exactly what they did and it really boils my urine..... More of us should be taking these people to small claims.
-
Care to elaborate? Think I'll get anywhere? I thought this was the case and yes it did have a description with no mention of the fault.

Cut a long story short, I've purchased a vehicle from a dealer and used a independent driver to collect it. Turns up and only a few hours after it getting dropped off did I actually go out and move it. On start up there's a heavy vibration running right though the car...... Turns out clutch and flywheel need replacing, no mention of the fault in the vendors description and even after me contacting them to say there's a problem they are basically giving me a eff off tablet. Do I have any rights at all despite this being B2B? Anyone had this type of scenario before?
