  1. Sorry but this isn't the way for me, 2 customers today, both wanted substantial amounts off and 1 even wanted 2 tyres and a major service.
  2. Alas there was a time when average or below was the norm......... Can even remember getting stock at below the below! Tis getting harder and harder to find them at these prices, add the fees, prep costs, delivery etc and there isn't a great deal left.
  3. Great thread, it rings so many bells its given me a migraine!
  4. I effin hate these types of people, want a new car for used car money. Vehicle gets sent out with all the checks etc and no warning lights, lo and behold a light comes on, who knows when an o2 sensor is going to fail or anything else for that matter. How can the seller be blamed for something that's totally out of their control. I had someone a while back state a turbo had packed in on a 5 series Bmw after approx 3 to 4 days of purchase as they were 3 hours away we swallowed it but I've a sneaky suspicion that he knew a garage owner where he was from who made up a bill and no doubt they split the money between them when I coughed up. Will never fully get rid of these types I'm afraid. Out of interest Simon, how many miles had the disco done (I loathe these cars by the way).
  5. Looks the part Simon, how many units can you get in there in total?
  6. Started this morning, no errors, knocked off once warm but as soon as I started it shortly after I had transmission message again. Seems to be only happening when it's warmed up.
  7. Bought the above vehicle, approx 60 miles later the transmission visit workshop message appears. Car is in limp and won't go out of 2nd gear now and just revs high. It's a 2008 model with 75k, anyone on here had any experience with these types of problems? Thanks in advance.
  8. Nope, did 4 between 27th and 30th and decided new years eve and today would be days off. Happy new year to you all and wishing you a prosperous 2018!
  9. I watched this too, interesting, they claimed that around half the notes that should be in circulation actually aren't. How they are trying to move to a cashless society and some businesses actually now don't accept cash, a cafe in Manchester area was on there with the owner stating that it was only the older generation that don't want to pay by cards etc. Thinking about it, every time I even go to a bar etc I always see people paying for rounds using their cards........ It's something I've never done so wouldn't really start now either.
  10. January the 12th I believe is the last day where retailers can charge for accepting payments via credit cards. Now I know the banking system doesn't run for free but I have always tried to pass on the charge (made punter pay 2%) to ensure that my margin remains intact. Back last year when a member of staff sold a 9k car I was horrified a few weeks later as the statement came through showing we had been charged £200 for taking payment via a credit card, to top it off he'd already given a discount on the car too. What are some of you guys going to do when the law changes, I've seen some retailers are going down a "service charge" route however they don't generally deal with the types of figures that we are involved with.
  11. Another DA beauty, I take it you know the seller?
  12. Did 1 boxing day, 1 on the 27th and 2 today. Well happy considering the time of year etc. Got a few others on the boil too which seem promising. Sorry, meant 1 on the 27th, 1 on the 28th and 2 today. I'm all over the shop with the dates.
  13. Just had an email this morning to say I've received a new review, don't believe I've ever had any rejected.
  14. Personally I find Manheim Bristol to be very expensive, approx 600 cars going through most days I visit with almost the same amount of buyers there. It's tough to grab a bargain especially with the extortionate fees they charge...... By the time you get it out of there, prep it, fix it (as there's usually unknown faults present) there's not much profit left. Rant over!
  15. Tcw gets a lot from. Manheim, reason the plates may be similar etc is due to the ex mobility and fleet sales which are held and they bulk buy
  16. Turnover is vanity........ Profit is sanity. Don't spoil a good thing by thinking bigger is better.
  17. Hard to buy in Jan, stock up now if you can.
  18. I had one yesterday through bumtree, cars up at 4490, offered 2500. Didn't respond.
  19. So true, can't put a plate on a vehicle without it having a keeper and also being taxed! I've done it many times despite being a pain in the arse
  20. Had a visit from a warrant rep that I know very well recently. Told me that stratstone, our local land-rover dealer are having to buy back lots of nearly new vehicles under the consumer rights act due to faults. Personally I try and steer clear of these due to the constant problems they seem to come with eg air suspension, gearbox issues etc. Very poor for such an expensive brand.
  21. I too get fed up of the paltry offers made mainly via eBay and Gumtree users...... I take on board that it's probably best to ignore or reply politely however some just take the biscuit........offers are sometimes well below what you would have even bought the car for in the first place. A while back I had a guy on a passat, bit of back and forth with the a-hole then he really touched a nerve....... So I gave him both barrels and told him that his mother must be really proud of him...... When his life has come to begging cars off people on eBay etc....... He then followed up with threats saying he knows where I am etc..... Told him to call up and discuss it further. Never heard from him again...... Saved his number on my phone as "passat beggar" and blocked the contact so that I don't get any more calls from him.
