I think each time there is something someone to sell they should start a new thread in this forum with the headline of what it is - that way it will be easier for people to search... What do you think?

Received this entry - via email - so thought I'd share it here: If I was in charge of the motor trade I would change the system of our road tax, by taxing drivers on the size of their vehicles. Why should someone who drives a small car which takes up far less space on the roads pay the same road tax as a driver of a large car, that in my opinion would be fairer. GG - profit is not a dirty word. Like it. You're running a business not a charity. Why don't people understand that?!

So you're at the top of the tree. You've got a say over the motor trade. You can change things. (Stick with me here). If you did hold this position (which I've just made up) what would be your first move? Would you outlaw roadside traders? Take on the DVLA? Or something else? What really gets on your wick in business that with some campaigning you might - and I stress might - be able to change?

There are lots of those around these days. They come in handy at roundabouts when you think the person in front has gone and then...

What services do you buy in the most in that area? What costs you the most? And what would you be most interested in hearing about more? Can you tell I'm cooking up something...

How important is your workshop to your business for those of you that have one? What products and services do you buy in most regularly? And what issues do you think are most pressing in the servicing area (and I'm not talking about who nicked the nude calendar from the staff room)? I'd love to hear your experiences in the service and repair area of your business and what you'd most like to hear about others who have similar businesses.

Interesting stuff. But I'm still not sure why an online system can't update itself immediately. Surely that's the whole point?

What about the new challengers - Sun Motors and Driving? How are they performing for you? We've heard good things...
