  1. we offer a 6 month warranty which is only valid at our garage.
  2. We source cars quite often, its a £500 deposit upfront, and as long as the car is as described mileage spec and condition when it arrives, they pay the balance on collection. we had one customer try to cancel without even viewing the car when it arrived. said she has bought elsewhere during the process, ok no problem we will keep the car for stock and we will keep your £500 deposit for the costs we have incurred. never heard back from her again.
  3. my current favourite one was from yesterday, couple in their 60s looking at a 1.6 Suzuki 2wd vitara..... well I just need to go and check the insurance to see if that's not going to be expensive before I buy. Reply to them, Oh come on behave, the insurance isn't a factor here lets be honest.... what is really stopping you... answer well to be honest we are not at the stage of buying yet just wanted to look around. Twats.
  4. Vintage banter lol, must admit we played that game a lot also how stupid can you make the mystery shopper feel. think my record for that was doing the 5 point presentation I said I want to show you this... and proceeded to walk him around the car 5 times without saying a word and then said right jump in lets go for a drive.
  5. We often get the my friends a mechanic and wants to check the vehicle over or he wants it on his ramp before I buy, oh so basically you are saying you don't trust us as a garage. he can inspect it all he wants once you have the car.
  6. Usual one we used to do was get a certain phrase or unusual made up words into the conversation when the customer was clearly not dealing or was messing about Had to stop once when a customer pulled up one of the salesman when he was dared to keep telling the customer about the new dufenspangloid system on the Citroen DS5, customer rumbled him immediately and wrote a letter to Citroen saying how we were taking the piss out of him.
  7. All you reply with is mr customer, no one forced you to travel to see us and no one forced you to sign the paperwork. these people have a tantrum they should be treated like children.
  8. Tell him he has 14 days to cancel the finance but he has to pay them for the car still. and then say you have done everything to the car as promised and have the proof, I cant see what else you should or have to do. he has signed all the paperwork and was happy when he left site if he wasn't he wouldn't have taken delivery of the car. end of
  9. We usually just grab the trade plates and go for a drive, but recently so many messers recently we are asking a lot of questions. A perfect example this morning, opening up a fella is all over a ford ranger we have he says can I take it out I love it. yes no problem come inside just need to grab some details from you, name address usual. then I ask him his budget. this is way over what he has, he is not vat reg either so he didn't understand he has to pay the vat on top plus, after explaining there is no discount on this car and you've already told me you cant spend that amount nor can you pay the vat. he still insists he wants to take it out. I just flat out asked him what would be the point ? you wont be buying you've told me........ his answer well I might buy one elsewhere but I need to know how they drive !!!! usually would have driven this guy no questions asked but now no chance.
  10. agree, end of the day its the mans livelihood.
  11. Quite funny reading to be honest but some of it seems a bit much also interested to see what is going on here
  12. Hi 1 was an appointment and we asked him to bring his car., the others just showed up,
  13. This last week has been quite frustrating with customers coming in and making an effort to visit us from quite far distances and not bring their part ex with them. we have had a few examples recently where we gave a rough price subject to seeing theirs only for it to show up and its a utter mess. I know buyers are liars some of these seem to be genuine mistakes from customers but to not bring your car its starting to get silly. 4 customers in this weekend so far, all travelled from at least 20 mins away and oh we didn't bring our px but it all depends what we get for it... we are refusing to look at any part ex price unless its on site. We even just flat out asked the last gentleman why haven't you brought it if its so important to the deal ? you wouldn't buy my car without viewing it and we wouldn't buy or value yours. his response well if you going to be like that I will take my business elsewhere. yes sir please do !
  14. Yes and when you are honest about it they get upset lol, we had an 08 plate xsara Picasso lovely low miles and service history, customer looking round it with a microscope.... its had paintwork that deffo its a dodgy buy if I go for it.... mr customer I would be amazed if it hadn't had paintwork majority of used cars will do at some stage of their life.. would you prefer to have bought it with the damage on the vehicle.... he shuffled off mumbling about bloody con men.
  15. I Would say the majority of customers I deal with tend to be quite pleasant, but one thing I have noticed recently is how stupid they are becoming or how they don't actually pay attention to adverts or the car they are looking at. So many calls recently saying I have seen your car on your website is it a diesel ? whats the mileage ? and various questions which are all in the advert. perfect example, customer rings up today nice and polite ,seen your advert is it a diesel.......no mr customer its a petrol as stated in the advert oh well that's a no for me then thanks ! and puts phone down
  16. Good on the dad glad to see some values, as for the mum and son utter arseholes vermin.
  17. I just don't like the fact they are brave on email, they would never say to our face. I want that car cleaning now !!
  18. you've seen a dealer near you done for that ? we don't have it on display on our forecourt its in the back yard where no customer can see it can we still get done ?
  19. We had a very impatient customer earlier, on a Toyota aygo that's just arrived recently, on web without image saying awaiting valet as it was filthy. He rings up demanding pics, so I oblige telling him the car is filthy but will receive full a valet when sold or when prepped in a week or so. a real snotty email comes back I will be down in 2 hours it will !! be valeted for me to look at or I wont be coming. Sent him a reply don't bother coming then as I have other cars being cleaned that are sold and are scheduled to go out.
  20. Genius haha, few examples of customer taking the actual gear stick knob, Always seem to be on Citroen C1 where they just twist and come off. even caught a customer doing this and said why have you done that, answer well you must have lots of replacements you wont miss it, she wasn't even buying another c1 what was she going to do with it I wonder.
  21. yes, we have an old boy who is always up and down our road in it looking at stock. Eventually got talking to him and he has bought a car so we kicked him quite hard in the gonads for it.... even rang the only aimax dealer in the uk I believe and they basically told us nope we don't want it haha.
  22. Aixam crossline, its utter filth of the highest order... or is that the lowest order not sure.
  23. Quiet day here also, no customers so just been dicking about on autotrader and dealer auction, I guess it comes down to a jobsworth police officer and if he has nothing to do and wants to annoy us sales people.
