  1. Imagine taking the Carzamy cinnchy idea to Dragons den

Now dragons we have a Venture Capital loan so we can deliver cars at a loss , this will be a 3 yrs multi million pound Loss , Reason we are here is to ask for £30 million to prop up the losses while we lose some more money , we need your cash as we haven't got our own money . BUT buy borrowing all these lovely Millions we have managed to value the business at £100 million by adding all the cars we don't own together .

Be funny to take that business idea to the dragons den  wouldn't it

    Just imagine the answers .

I'm OUT you cant add up , you don't understand business , your worth NOTHING , how do you value a loss from borrowed money , OUT Now :D . I'm not investing

  2.  Carzo zam inch or whatever they call them selves thought they had cornered the mkt with online delivery .

THEN the virus changed the world , BCA even went online , We as independent traders went online too and there's 1,000's of car sellers delivering cars now which has probably diluted the theory somewhat  .

Now the next change in my head ,  people will get permission to leave their house to be in a freaky position of actually seeing what buy , Bugger getting it delivered I'm off for a ride & have a look at my next car , buy a burger and a coffee on the way , see it coming cant you .

Had two customers yesterday wanting to see the car they want to buy , talk of how does it work is fading fast as of course they want to see a 5 yr old car , feel it touch it sit in it before buying . We and the rest of us independents are set up to go back to showing customers cars of course , see online car buying fading away personally .

People are ready to get out .

lets see how the next few months go , all the very best to all traders , hope its heading for a good year .

Best one by a country mile  is this tried & tested way :   BANK TRANSFER ...THATS IT,,,,we DO NOT , and wont accept anything else....

    I couldn't live without the card Terminal , I really couldn't

Fast , instant , great for NOW payments , over phone deposits

The trouble Ive had with bank transfers being slow drives me insane , 2 hours , 4 hours , security checks , only send 5k then wait 2 hours , drives me nuts ,

I love , card in terminal , pay Now , Go on your way , next customer please .

Good luck if you do get on with transfers though , least its free .

  4. They are legally allowed to bid it to reserve .

After that its off to traders ,

Bids are high at present though and look like being so for some time to come .

Like the CLK 280 . low miles CAP don't exist , its the brave hearts or the stupid who win ,

How many of you own a personal car or just use a trade car I normally keep an old run about for myself and keep my mum with something reasonable as a spare car in case my sisters car is off the road for whatever reason and also mum can use it for going to local shop etc and it always there to use for picking up my dads prescriptions etc

When Im in the good books and have a better half lol  she normally gets something decent to drive to

I always test drive every thing we sell Casper So i'm in anything from the latest Golf R to an Aygo PX  all trade cars .

I do have a Very Sorted Personal  600+  BHP XFR in the Garage though for Sunday lunches if we ever get back to Sunday lunch and if they are open when we do get back . ,

Today I'm in a 90k 58 plate Octavia VRS px because it was brimmed with fuel . :D

Neighbours love my old bangers, last week it was a C1 07 plate shitter , week before 05 plate Panda , cant trade a car on when the petrol's worth more than the car can you .

Lease is not for me . I like the mods far to much , If it ain't got 8 cylinders and growls I'd get bored in mins , have to open the garage door and laugh or its gone :D

I'm old enough to know better really . But silent electric will be here soon :( sad days

Wife's got a Skoda 245 VRS estate , she shares it with the Dog I do nick that .

    Hi guys

was wondering if you guys could shed some light on this- I’ve just received a Launch X431 v4 from Amazon, is there any way to check if it’s genuine? as I’m starting to have my doubts

the Amazon store looks certified but there’s certain things like the product picking up the wrong model and show 35 faults for a vehicle which only shows a fuse fault on the instrument cluster...

    This is the product..

LAUNCH X431 V (X431 Pro) Bi-Directional OBD2 Diagnostic Scanner, Key Fob Programming, ECU Coding, ABS Bleeding Brake, Reset Functions Including Oil Reset, EPB, SAS, DPF, BMS, SRS, TPMS https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01G5BA9LW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fabc_XMF97553M1D2H3MCWB93?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Bit risky buying this sort of kit online in my thinking , we always go with a parts supplier that has access to such as Launch  / Snap on or MAC Tools for various Diagnostics .

Not only do you get Genuine stuff but they also have free updates , Courses at your premises free , Loans if needed , All great value add ons .

Just really hope its genuine what you have though , all the best

Does appear cheap at £799 , must say .

Try an update online , if its a non genuine it will chuck you out instantly , Stolen and it will chuck you out too .

  9. 4 months down the line and the clutch is really a wear and tear item . IF its the clutch plates or a wear tear part ,

Customer use can cause this to fail .

Only you knows if under your pre sales testing the clutch was fine and working as should .

Agreed a warranty on 3 months then its 3 months , not 3 and a bit or 4 , as there would be no point in saying 3 months would there , A positive no its not covered and its been working fine for 4 months and how ever many miles the customers done .

Maybe they will ring to see if you would , maybe they wont ,

A firm NO sorry warranty expired 4 weeks ago will be expected . Not our job to let someone loose on a clutch then pay for it .

I had a guy buy a small car off me once and moaned about the clutch , I told him straight its your car your problem 5 months down the line , we have a workshop so offered it at a lower rate but when we got in there he had proper ruined it , Ripped the thing to pieces.

Dont fold or they will bleed you dry

i will never understand someone who thinks that using a  phone to message me is better than using a  phone to call me, As above, Someone with genuine interest WILL as soon as is possible speak with the vendor to gain as much insight into the car, The business the preparation that has been complete, The after sales situation, Anyone who fails to move to the phone after a few brief messages is  not buying a car

Love when a text or email messer misses the sale to a phone caller lol

Had one a bit back back on Autotrader message thingy , Is this still available ? "yes" You need to call me ", What your best price ? "no movement"Call Me "  how many owners ," 1 "  ,If you don't call it will be sold " How long you had it , Till yesterday its gone to a new home

Very nice Guy who was a part time delivery guy for a car parts motor factors near us was a victim two days ago ,

The whole place went down with Covid after one driver tested positive , 23 people 19 tested positive .

So they isolate as per the law as they should , Poor Phil has four days at home turns worse overnight , dead two days later in hospital .

Fit bloke , 59 yrs old but ran or walked 10 miles every day with his two dogs .

Obviously been caught from someone bringing it into the building , who knows who but hes gone now .

Made me think when we come out of lock down , this virus wont be gone will it , Im still going to keep people at 2 meteres , out the office , on site but out the office, no family running round either just one person to see the car  , I know it can be done but just think that after lock down has done its even more important to keep ourselves SAFE .

More important than now really .

If Phil can die I'll say one thing ,any one of us could be next dealing with strangers .

Hi, Increasingly I get asked if I offer finance. I’m a sole trader trading from home stocking around 10-12 cars. Is it possible to offer car finance and how do I go about it. Any help is greatly appreciated as it’s all overwhelming to me.

Really need to get FCA approved to start with , Then find your self a Broker to deal with so you can propose the customers to finance .

Other way is to approach someone like Close Brothers direct who are the finance company , But being a home trader or low units per month they may well say no .

home trader is probably best with a Broker , Mallard may help  , Evolution is a broker dealing with most of the finance companies , Octane is a broker too ,

But the start is your FCA licence so you have a an FRN  number , Limited permission Broker number you want , they wont deal with you until you are FCA approved .

Does come with costs and extra work though , not all roses , thorns too . But the commission at the month end is very very good income

I had it recently it on an old Jag X-Type.

Two years ago we had a freshly MOT'd X Type , Had the MOT 4 days before he came to px it against our Subaru WRX.

My son took the x type with full history and fresh MOT in , Following day we put it on the ramp and the F####ing thing was eaten away with Rust , Holes every where in the Sills . I was that incensed i Phoned VOSA who came to look at it after they saw pictures .

Gave me a form stating they had took it away and it was evidence to take the keeper to court , so i did and won my £800 back .

Vosa in turn went to the MOT garage with two secret shopper cars , then presented him with the Xtype , Lost his Licence pronto . Love to have been there . According to the owner that car had not been on site and that was his defense
