  1. Also the bonnets can be stolen quite easily, happened to mine. Wasn't impressed. I use to wing my smart up the motorway at 80/90 mph.
  2. Exactly that, good old happy days, all good things come to an end
  3. I remember driving my cars up to Autotrader in Watford, to get the photos taken and ad for the magazine, easy peasy
  4. Now you have the car just offer him a refund, deduct mileage etc as someone has already said..... First time in 4 years.. That's excellent, now just take the hit and move on. If you repair and give it back to him, I just can't help thinking it won't be the last you hear from him.
  5. Think you're being rather generous with only the clip round the ear, I feel a lengthy prison sentence will be better suited.
  6. I was up 2 am last night browsing the auction lists so your not the only one mate, so time consuming and stressful looking at a repetitive computer screen. Regular thing for me.
  7. Definitely think your being way to harsh there BHM, yes we as dealers have to deal with very difficult, uneducated, lying people many a time. But on this occasion looks like the dealer may be pulling a fast one with a misleading advert. Saying that, some people just don't read adverts properly. Eg I advertise a car clearly stating the car has sat nav complete with photo, and the amount of owners the car has. I still get a text 'alrite mate has the car got nav n how many owners' sigh This, save yourself the aggro!
  8. Or he would show with the intention of offering £400, so he has £100 left to put a tenner in the tank, take his chavvy missus and malnutritioned staf cruising, then take a deserved trip to the bookies.
  9. FACT! The big vendors pay no entry fees as far as I'm aware, hence the extortionate buyers fee. Try not to use the cars for personal, detach yourself from it... It's there for business and to make money. Give it a good test drive, get tyres and drop link, and get MOT, Sell it ASAP.
  10. Very true..But if he's willing to put the work rate in it could work.....Then again he had 2/3 jobs already, I'm not sure how he will have the time, to sell the cars
  11. Just stay away from the auctions, you'll end up with some cars you wish you never bought, plus the auctioneers will just take the mick and bid you up.... Buy private or from ebay lots of bargains there. Good luck
  12. Unfortunately he is entitled to a refund if the car picks up a fault within 30 days of when he took the car. Cut your losses collect the car give refund, be glad to see the back of him.
  13. I remember going up to a trader doing exactly that. I was shaking my head saying 'gearbox knackered', him agreeing. Know and behold 5 minutes later he sees me out bidding him on the same car. Let's just say he wasn't amused.
  14. Wouldn't it be funny if you got the car back, took it to a Halfords MOT centre and it passed with flying colours. I dare you.
  15. If I can't jump in and have a feel of the clutch, rev and see if electrics working inside, I usually don't bother bidding. Manheim Wimbledon use to have about 10 cars idling with no driver so was easy. I ain't been there in a while though because of the prices of the shite they sell there.
  16. I thought if the car develops a fault within 30 days, the customer can reject the car, we have no right to try to repair it and have to give a refund. This customer sounds like he will lie through his teeth to get his way. Good luck hope you win.
