BHM, it's early on a Sunday morning, I'll rephrase that to uncertainty due to Covid and Brexit. But hey sold 2 cars this morning and one appointment this afternoon.
-
Certainly a lot of negativity. Keep in there guys we'll get through this. What else would we do?
-
In the lockdown, was offering click and collect/deliver was hard work done 3, we also do about 30 a month. Lockdown has been lifted been mental today, had a first appointment at at 9am, I got up late @ 8.30am as didn't get much sleep night before (as took my son to airport early hours night before) Took cereal with me to work, didn't eat that or a cup of coffee/tea until 2.30pm. (15 minute beeak) Done 4 today saw 12 customers today and phone not stopped ringing all day. Hopefully a few more tomorrow. Happy with that. This month needs to make up for last month me thinks.

Set yourself a level you are going to buy at. I only buy from BCA, grade 3 vehicles, no fault warning lights, if there is an assured report check it, if anything like engine smoking, gear selection, or clutch slip etc, swerve it and go on to the next one. I know always going to get one not described the way I would look at it. But hey they are used vehicles so always going to be a risk, even if the top expert or mechanic on here will get caught out at physical auction.
-
I won't go back to physical auctions, I sit in my warm office and be at 2 sales at one time. Since the first lockdown been buying online on Mondays for cars and Tuesdays for vans which can be any where. We are doing very well buying online, easier to stop bidding if anything is making too much. I never of thought I would buy permanently online, although we don't have a choice anymore.

Its a bit leggy, undesirable for some.

Problem with showing a prospective buyer the V5.

Never even thought someone would do this. Given doc ref numbers out too many times after deposit has been paid, so customer can get road tax before he/she turns up to collect their new car. Try to be helpful much as I can to customers for an easy transaction for them and us. Thinking about it could of shot myself in the foot. Never going to pass on doc ref no. again until handing car over once paid in full. -
Processing v5s online with new owners details, a few of them coming up with "keeper on record" my guess is vehicles not being put into trade by BCA, vendor or last registered keeper. Only happening with vehicles coming from BCA. Anyone else had this issue?

All same company, Ebay, motors, gumtree we've got a package with all 3. Had an email earlier aswell.

We had a car just couldn't get rid of the smell, shampooed it several times still no joy. We eventually sold the car sprayed tobacco febreze initially before custome arrived to view and again just before handover. Our car must of been owned by a chain smoker. Unless you change the whole interior it's in there for good.
-
Definitely shouldn't be inviting customers to your showroom/forecourt. Surely with tailgates open they are doing exactly that. We have offered click and collect to 4 customers today, they didn't want to know, they want to view and test drive.
-
Welcome to Lockdown 2
-
I think it will, it in the last lockdown
-
Sometimes hard enough to sell with a viewing, a test drive, 6 months warranty as standard, 12 months mot and a service. With click and collect there's no viewing or test drive, a car is the next biggest purchase from buying a house for a lot of people so I think people would like to view before they commit although they have 14 days to return the car.

I was meant to be getting a copy from Lawdata Ltd yesterday by email, nothing has come through. One more job today, chase up for paperwork. Thinking about it, Never used to have pdi checklist form either think I need to get one if them aswell.
-
Has anyone done any deals today on click and collect or deliver. Its going to be a hard one to convince buyers to buy. We have great reviews on Google and auto trader, an excellent package before handover with a comprehensive warranty but I think its still going to be tough unless joe public get desperate.

I am more than happy for AT doing this as December can be a bit dicey in normal circumstances, now you can say you have 50% off each month or buy one month get one month free and you pay at the end of the deal as they won't be taking any money from us until January. You never know they extend it depending if lockdown gets extended.
-
I bought a car from BCA a few weeks ago and sold it with no v5, I wouldn't apply for a v5, it will add another registered owner to the car. May be you get away with using one if those old v5s, try taxing the car online just don't submit. Failing that print off and fill in v62 form (online) take it to the post office where you will be able to tax car and apply for new v5 you will need to pay £25 for the application. Do it once you have sold the car so it goes in new owners name. Do Hpi or experian check and have that for the customer to prove it is all legitimate.

....... eat out help out didn't help anyone, brainless idea. Now we're all fooked up again.
-
Do we buy more cars or hold onto our money?? We stock about 80 cars and vans, buy about 5 to 10 everyweek, don't know if AT, Ebay, Cargurus going to help again or even the government Been on BCA catalogues during the day for Monday, stock to be had. Suppose we are not an essential retailer so will have to close again.
-
Any cherish plate experts on here? Got a car come in with reg no. FXi 730 any ideas how much this is worth? Is it worth keeping?
-
Fair price is Fair price.....it is what it says on the tin, unless it's a sh!tter as AT don't take everything into account.

How are we finding buying at the 'block' these days?

Engine Starts Requires Attention / Battery OK BCA Assured Report

BCA assured, money making for BCA. don't need to say anymore. BCA Essential, another money maker, try to make a claim on one of these, they say this only for guidance won't honour / entertain any faults. Just charge BCA essential charge.
