Sold a 2010 308 1.4 82k miles the other week. She has just been on the phone saying the timing chain has gone and its going to cost £700!! I probed further and it transpires that it was making a noise so she took it to a local garage who have striped it and told her the TC needs replacing. Car was up for £2350, it had been freshly serviced by my local garage. Sold it her for £1900 just to see the back of it. Car was faultless when she left Obviously the car is now it bits 100+ miles away. Told her to contact warrantywise... But we all know whats they are going to say.!

Just one this weekend, Didnt chip me which seems a rarity these days. Its still not on fire for me... To a few positives though my monthly books are easier to do, tax man wont get as much from me and I've made good progress on my camper.
-
I stopped doing them after the new sale of good act. What happens 2 months down the line when the punter comes back screaming with a fault. You could end up buying back the car. Tell them to sell it themself but maybe offer advice.
-
Drive it back with my fingers crossed

I have zero love for Vauxhalls at the moment. I had to put an engine in a 46k mile Astra not so long back. And i have a terminal 43k mile corsa at the moment. And a sticky 2011 Astra Sri cdti... Not one call in 9 weeks.

Out of three appointments today. First guy and his wife came to view £1500's worth of Punto but have a list of cars still to view even though it was the best one they had seen, Second was coming to view a on behalf of her daughter who even tough they live within a few miles didn't come with him and he didn't come in the PX but still wanted a price on it!!! Final one was a no show! Seriously beginning to think Im cursed! March and April have been tragic. Seriously thinking of taking the Stamps offer.

Over priced Under priced, High miles Low miles, I have a collection of all of the aforementioned and still the phone is quiet I really wish there was a logical fool proof plan in this game.
-
Another very quiet weekend, apart from a guy trying via text to convince me his modified chavved up W reg Golf GTI was worth £2500 on a PX against a 07 Golf TSI GT.. Spent a day last week re photographing and re wording adverts snipped £50-£100 off here and there. Rapidly approaching two very quiet months on the trot.

That explains the lack of interest in the Passat TDI estate, Focus TDCI and Astra CDTI i can't seen to shift. Normally popular cars. The new changes shouldn't effect older stock though.

Plenty of enquires but no one parting with the readies. Still on two for the month, one of which was money back. Not sure whats causing my downturn

Only if it has a serious fault that was proved by the buyer to have been there at the point of sale. Not just because they suddenly get buyers remorse.

Dont.... Just Dont

Two no shows a few of the low ball offer brigade. and a sprinkling of " Is the **** still for sale?".. but then nothing after that!! Not known it this quiet for a long time.
-
Really quiet... The Phone just isn't ringing. Even the low ball chancers are on holiday. Managed to pick up a nice Focus Diesel today from bca belle vue. Going to look at VW t5 for a camper converstion later this week. Seriously thinking of cutting back on the cars and getting more in to VW T5's. Campers and day vans.

I drive home from he block, usually I use them for a day or so, if they have less then 6 months MOT they gt 12 months and if its due a service within a few months it gets a fresh service. That said I had a 40k mile one owner corsa that I drove 30 miles home, I used for a day or so. Sold it.. but within a week it terminally shat itself!. If you want a guarantee, Buy a Toaster
-
I would, and like you say if it sells one car its paid for itself
-
I went to BCA commercial sale this week, in the hope to bag a VW Transporter. HOLY CRAP! the prices are through the roof, past the chimney and out of the stratosphere.
-
Only two for me so far, hardly any serious enquiries just the low ball offer and swapz brigade
-
Going full time are my costings correct?

How long it takes you to sell a car is anyones guess these days. For example i sold an 07 Cooper just in December within a week of having it. A few weeks later i spotted the exact same car at bca. Naturally i bought it..... I sold it last weekend, you do the maths. I have a low mileage 09 Twingo i have also had since Jan. Not had a single call on it.
