All I am sorry I have been quiet. I've been in hospital this week - severe tonsillitis, complicated with Covid-19 fears. Been a rough week, but I'm out and back in front of my computer and very conscious the industry needs our help. Can't not work any longer... The Car Dealer team and I are now working on an all new website to be rolled out this weekend to help with advice, the latest news and everything we can do to share positive stories and ideas to help your business in these tough times. We can see from our traffic that many of you are desperate for information. We are in a unique position where my team can help get you answers to the many questions I know you probably have. If you are worried about something, need answers on anything in these difficult times, contact me - I'm on here and will be monitoring this. Email or direct message me with anything. If we can get answers for you we will - if it helps you, it will probably help other dealers. We want to tell your positive stories too so if you want to talk to us and tell people how you're making things work in this difficult time, get in touch. My team and I will do all we can to get you answers, share help and advice and together we can work to get through this tough time for every one of us. I'm acutely ware that many of you will be working at home, or isolated, and this is a community for you - share your experiences, talk to us. You can also find me on Twitter - @CarDealerEd or find me on Instagram - @baizeceo Let me know what we can do to help - I'll do all we can to share the right information. Stay healthy, James Car Dealer Magazine founder

What a great post, i wish you a speedy recovery, one thing you may wish to look into that may help other dealers that do finance [ i do not] there is a, what seems, exception to these rates discounts that are being offered, that may affect dealers badly, i have noticed looking at the small print [ covid 19 retail discount scheme] no relief if your premises are used for "the provision of financial services" might be worth chasing for clarity

Quite simple, if you are in contact with the public then you are at risk, that is us, end of..................... Be nice to see on here instead of bickering, about how you are actually dealing with it, are you doing test drives with the unknown ? i believe lawgistics have issued a form that the customer signs before test drive stating they have not got coronavirus [ joke]. what steps are you taking to keep your business afloat ? [read back and you will see mine]. millions and millions will have to stay at home soon ? maybe you have made no plans, and cannot get out of your house because you cannot find the front door because its hidden by toilet rolls ?

I have emailed her back after getting advice from lawgistics motor trade lawyers not sure what hole these people wriggle out of and think the dealers are always responsible for other peoples shady work the warranty at first refused to pay her out as she didn't follow there procedure but after nurmurous phone calls they did pay what they thought was right for that job which I don't blame them I always tell them that any problems with the car contact your warranty company first and follow there instructions but it looks like it just goes straight over there heads

I love the banger PX’s, easy money. Just video them with a brutally honest description as trade disposal, no warranty implied or given. The first customer who calls pays the deposit and confirms their understanding gets it.. Use a Lawgistics “unroadworthy invoice” for them to sign on collection and reiterate the above.

A warranty is in addition to the customers rights. As long as your warranty states "this warranty does not effect you consumer rights" you are ok. As HAWWTW states, buy some Lawgistics booklets.

got to be careful copy and pasting, too easy to remove consumer rights by mistake or get something wrong, your best bet is spend a bit at LAWGISTICS SELF ADMINISTERED

Did anyone read this Lawgistics account.Guy who purchased by credit card wants to reject after several months on the grounds that he was not informed that his Cat converter could easily be stolen ( which I think it was) and therefore his car was not fit for purpose.Lawgistics had to deal with the credit card company to throw out the claim.....whatever next.
