I’ve got no problem with newcomers. Well done for putting your hands up and coming here for advice. What really fucks me off is when people try it for 2 weeks, ask us every question under the sun, get the ump when we’re hard on them, then give up because they didn’t get rich over night.

Yes, but that takes time and the enthusiasm to do it.... both of which I don’t have

Hi Miz You need skill, knowledge and experience to succeed in this job.As you don’t appear to have that,I would suggest that first of all you should buy one or two low priced older cars. After you have mot’d and cleaned them, try selling them from where you live. You will need to be prepared to lose money and get regularly kicked in the teeth with problems in the first 2 years........When you have bought some stock, you could let us know.

My advice, for what it's worth. Setup a LTD company - costs £12. Do it yourself. These are accident damaged cars and you will get screamers. Find a good accountant, he will have dealt with car traders before and will save you time and money. For a small business like yours expect £100 a month roughly. Get your trade insurance setup. Impossible to run without this. Your accountant will know someone. Tradex normally take on newbies. Apply for some trade plates. Try to not let any of the above distract you from doing your job

Just read through this forum mate. There’s so much good advice on here it’s untrue. Also read the gov website regarding trade plates etc. There’s too many things to sum up in one post for “good tips” just read every thread on here from the last month and it will answer 90% of your questions. Good luck.

Too add to this, I pay Manheim to deliver every car. When you are buying Assured cars online it’s essential.

Put another on the board today, 5 for the month from 10. Even managed to nick a couple at auction today n'all. Well, it is my birthday today so maybe the gods are playing nicely....for now...

Thanks for the tip BHM. Fuck me you ain't wrong! Trouble with the flexible collection is that it's a bit too flexible in the sense that Manheim let you have 3 days before they start charging you a tenner a day I think which will erode the saving for not picking a specific date. Either way, I've got a collection on Monday for a reasonable if not higher than budgeted price. It is out of the way down there, I suppose.
