MARKET REPORT The directors are happy to report a 0.003% increase in the second quarter. With the successfull appointment of our new Digital M.D. and the inspirational launch of our new Blue Sky Motoring App,we see a gamechanging opportunity for re imagining digitally generated footfall. Investment in GDPR compliance is up 12.7% However, with the potential Perfect Storm of Brexit,Bitcoin and product saturation we see caution in the market place with pressure mounting on brand affinity. YOU CANNOT BEAT BULLSHIT,IT IS EVERYWHERE.....

As other have said, nice website! Really well presented and nice see one not riddled with spelling mistakes. Our local German specialist does solely AT but I know others do really well off FB and with your tech skills i'm sure you could build a bit of a brand on there. Ditch the sportswear for the video (you did ask for opinions). No one wants a shiny suit these days but someone in a footie shirt is almost as off putting as buying a car from a Midlands postcode from a guy with a tracksuit and one of those stupid Eastern Euro bags they all wear. Just an opinion though. Nick makes a really good point about the lower price point. You probably know more about German metal than me already but you will make mistakes, it's inevitable in this game and it's better to cock up on a 5K lump than a 15K one. Also, unless you're doing it for a bit of fun, just remember the fundamentals. I don't mean to sound like a d**k but so many new traders forget. If you earn 1K clear out of a sexy 15K 3 Series and £800 clear out of an ugly 5K 1 Series then you want to be stocking three boring one series not one shiny 3 series. If you only want to stock the sexy stuff then it's a hobby/vanity project not a business. The forum is a wealth of knowledge, must be an answer to almost every question, so worth reading through a lot of the old posts. Finally, best of luck!

Buy now cars have been through sales and not sold for a reason usually. Can occasionally trawl them and cherry pick the odd good car but rare, requires a lot of leg work and if I do and buy a bad one I have only myself to blame.

If the auction is close to you then even in five years I would still attend, unless your buying very new stuff with tiny miles anything else needs to be heard seen and smelt in that order.

Back in the day i used to be a VW fanatic and almost every car i bought was from the VW family (back when there product was good) i stopped in the end, niche seems to work for some people for me it was just to hard to find the right stock and enough of it to fill the lot with just one brand and then the product turned into a pile of rubbish anyway so it worked out well in the end.

Thanks all for the comments. I’ve been lurking on the forums for a while and always been impressed with the constructive support offered. I don’t own any sportswear/football shirts. (It’s a polo shirt.) but I take your point about what I’m wearing. Thanks, I will give him a try.

If you're selling in this price range then yes offering finance is pretty much a must I'd say. Try Close brothers or Blue motor finance.

Quite a few of us mentioned on your previous thread mate, you got to put the legwork in and get your arse down to an auction and don't leap in and buy any old cheap shite without crawling all over it. If your bidding don't just bid to 'win' it you'll pay to much, research what your interested in, set your max bid in your head and stick to it, don't forget fees. Keep your eyes and ears open and you'll be amazed, shocked probably a better word, at the goings on if you're regularly attending.

Agreed. We can't get enough 3's. Show someone a Focus with A/C an Leccy front windows and then show them a 3 with auto lights and wipers, cruise and heated seats for similar money. Easy street. Hope things pick up for you Pete. On your Mazda being a grand less than the nearest competitor....maybe it's too cheap? Sounds silly but a grand is a huge amount of money on sub 5k stuff so it might be making punters suspicious, especially if you trade from home? Just a thought.

Most warranties won't pay out in first 30 days ( not much better after 30 days either tbf). First 30 days in the critical time for robust complaint resolution. Get a company to do the admin side of things, pay the money into your own pot and then use that to pay when stuff goes wrong. £50.00 / £100 per car. If you prep right you will be quids in. If you don't prep right warranty will be the least of your problems.

BEST; Deciding to give it a go in this industry. After 20+ years as a wage slave (albeit reasonably well paid in a different industry) I do not miss the rat race whatsoever. WORST; Deciding to give it a go in this industry. I had no idea just how stupid, deceitful, obnoxious, rude, greedy, arrogant, ignorant, ill-informed & self-important a fair percentage of the general public are.

Yep. I knocked a few walls down last year and now have a two/three car bay and like you, it's made a huge difference. There are far too many advantages to list. All major mechanical and paintwork still goes out but I am toying with the idea of knocking up an extension, taking on a painter and setting up a mini body shop which could open to the public for smart repairs, alloys, etc but more importantly would make buying a little more easier on some of the edgy stuff.

Opening our own workshop and more recently doing our own smart repairs / paint / alloy refurbs. Transformed the speed for having cars on sale.

Not hanging onto many of the cars I sold in the seventies and eighties, they would have made a nice pension pot.
