    Ebay PX enquiry. I asked this guy four times to call to discuss his PX. Mr C if you want me to make an offer to buy your cars then I need to know what I am buying, please call me... Anyways on after my fourth very polite reply repeating "please call me" he emails me saying I am a "rude c_nt"......... My reply..... I know I should of just ignored the twat... When purchasing an item online, what would even the most uneducated moronic cretinous idiot do, even if all they could drool and wet themselves, I am sure they would know the first basic rule......... You MUST read the description fully. If the sellers advert politely requests.... Please call if you wish to discuss PX......What do you think that means ? A. Call to discuss your PX with the person you want to sell PX with ?B. Tell your carer that your nappy needs changing ?C. Stick your finger in your ass, poke it around, then confirm you are yes full of shit ?

    Some people just cannot handle a conversation on the phone anymore. They want all enquiries done via email or text message actually speaking to someone is just so old fashioned now. When a customer turns up and looks sheepish the first thing that often bumbles out of their mouth is "whats the best price" not because they are rude just because they have no idea how to communicate. Out of curiosity though, could you have not valued the p/x by email conversation, asking all the questions needed to value it ?

    We learned the hard way after buying online from BCA. We've had a few appraisals that were pretty bad. Bought an Vauxhall VXR online. Gearbox was whining really badly, but no mention of it. Parked it in the carpark and complained - got nowhere as it was 'sold as seen' and the vendor didn't mention any fault. Car came with no history/books/MOT, which was odd for a VXR with 1 owner for the last 10 years. After writing to the previous owner, found out the car was traded in with the owners booklet, MOT cert, Service Book full of main dealer history with an invoice detailing the gearbox failure - this paperwork was missing when we bought it. Called the dealer it was traded in at, must have got lucky and spoke to a newbie there who meant to put me on 'hold' but but me on 'mute' so I heard the whole conversation that he and the salesman who took the car in had. It wasn't pleasant. - I know it's the name of the game, but we've got to be honest with our customers, and the dealers still have to declare major faults with the cars, no just dispose of any paperwork that confirms any faults! Decided I wasn't going to allow the vendor to just plead ignorance to the fault, so wrote the the CEO. Got a response pretty quickly and the complaint resolved. When complaining, the branch manager told me that the mistake I made was driving it out of the compound and into the car park. Bought a Fiat 500, drove from Devon to Walsall to collect it - Appraisal, and Assured Report were naff. We took the advice from we got, and didn't take the car off the site and were offered £200 and take the car as is, or chip it back. £200 wouldn't touch the repairs, so we chipped it back. Done and dusted within 25 mins. Shame about the 4 hour wasted drive up there though. The manager there offered us a free delivery next time we buy online from that centre, which was very kind of him. We much prefer to go to auction to see the cars in person, but we are at a different end of the market to some dealers here. We can see it from their side though, the people doing the appraisals are only human and occasionally things can be missed - or are they on a set time per car and sometimes rushing? If we had customers who bought from us and arrived to find something not as described, they'd hit to roof. Why should dealers have to put up with cars not coming through auction being not as described. We pay enough in auction fees! Yes, we do have some comeback, but its a PITA to get listened to and the gestures offered to make the car 'as described' most often don't cover it. You live and learn, eh? That's a right moany old post We're happy car dealers really - the good buys more than make up for the bad eggs. Wouldn't change occupation, dealings in the blood!

    £300 a month plus vat gives me both a Gumtree and Ebay motors pro account this included a 20% discount for an 18month commitment not sure what the standard package is as it was only £40-50 less i didnt go into it. Gumtree four free featured adds before they where £15 a pop Dedicated call in line so when someone rings you know its from gumtree and what car there looking at. The gumtree app is good as well but we already use that. A call log where you can go back if you missed any calls “hello mr james you rang about our Fiesta” kind of thing I like that feature. eBay pro gives you same dedicated phone line a showroom / page which you can link your gumtree adds to and act like a webpage eBay pro also allows you to list your add in HTML whilst I am no expert it makes for adding pictures in your listing like your garage outside or logo very easy, looking forward to having a play with it see what it delivers. up to 30 cars listed on both sites. We use gumtree it works well for us this is only another £100 a month so got to be worth a shot need only one or two sales a year to cover it, as I said it works for some people and some people it doesn’t we work against the normal and make ours the most expensive let the bottom feeders go buy from jimmy no name up the road suits me down to the ground. It does get a lot of bashing on here but I turn my stock over within 30days on average and wont even go into the cost savings over autotrader which doesn’t really suit my stock profile.

    I couldnt give two hoots what everyone else is doing if people are dumb enough to fall for fake traders in petrol stations with a car sales price board in the window then let crack on, standing out from the rubbish is even easier for me, we advertise heavy that we are a car garage and have been in business for twenty years am i the cheapest i would say the most expensive.not everyone on gumtree / ebay wants to buy a pile of crock, they have some very good view rates and decent prices i turn my stock over on average within 30 days. Yes i get the odd 3am how much for hash i mean cash mate, I just ignore them and carry on with my day, Its a module that clearly doesnt fit all but works very well for us so i am over the moon with the link between gumtree and ebay just signed up for 18 months £300 a month for the pair which includes all the bells and whistles, such as Ebay motors website / showroom dedicated call indicator so when people ring in it tells me what car there ringing about and a few more handy little features.

    I’m not full time, but that doesn’t make me a ‘plastic trader’ lets face it even a vat number doesn’t prove your trade, bet there’s plenty of people on there using a family members business name and vat number to get around it. We all know the types.
