Majority of all Large 4x4 are flops now. X5's R/R Sports Discovery Sports GLC's Mokka's all hanging around for over 100 days encounting. Luckily we've sold most only 1/2 now hanging about but we took a hit on about 5 of them. Top sellers... Well, that's down to your area and if your buying well for your area and advertising without being greedy you should have these in stock anyway and treat the heavy stuff as bonus cars.

Anyone else get mildly 'excited', when you buy a 1 owner car from BCA, listed with no service history, but your hunch tells you it must have..... You look in the glove box, no book pack, quick look under the seat nothing! You then resign yourself to the fact of trying to trace the history, ringing the original supplying dealer, ringing unhelpful mot stations etc.... Then boom!! You not only find the full book pack, but a fully, up to date service history all stamped in the book!!! I must confess to doing a mini fist bump!! Anyone else feel the same? bit like finding that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow..... Happened twice this week!! Maybe I'm just sad....

Snap. Got a genuinely mint Shogun we've had longer than we should and a couple of others that I expected to go. Freelanders around the 08 - 11 plate seem to be doing well still though.

You’ll be lucky to get any straight answers on that. Comes down to you pays your money you takes your chance. Learning what sells is something we all have to pay for

Expecting innocent Joe Public to sign some alleged “catch all” form sold by a motor trade consultancy & think you’re going to walk away from your obligations is kidding yourself. Most of us get out of any claims simply because it’s too much hassle for the punter. I suspect if you stand in front of a judge as a gentleman of the motor trade being brought to book by Joe Public, then waving a PDI form that you, or a third party on your behalf, has completed to say your car was tickety boo will count for little. Be upfront, talk straight, don’t promise the earth, don’t let chancers take the piss, deal firmly but fairly, avoid fault prone models of cars, advertise honestly & fully mechanical prepare your stock and you won’t go far wrong.

I suspect long term that won’t cut any ice and you’re almost inviting future claims. Remember the onus would be on you to defend & it would be a struggle to put up a robust defence when your “admin charge” applies to cc transactions. In my opinion it’s not rocket science. If you don’t want to pay the fees only take other payments. There’s no point whinging & trying to wriggle around it. If you don’t want to pay then don’t take ccs, if you see a benefit in accepting ccs then pay.

Agreed. Call me a cynical old bastard but this is always my first thought. We come pretty close to refusing to sell cars to people over an hours travel away these days. It's always the distance sales that cause grief IMO and aren't worth the hassle anymore. Bad customers because they're either buying purely on price, your vehicle being the cheapest, and therefore can't actually afford to run and maintain it and will be seeking any kind of claim to save a few quid. Or the car is a rare bit and they're travelling because they have high standards and want the best one on the market which is all well and good until they get a bit of buyers remorse two weeks later realising it hasn't changed their sex life, their mates aren't actually that impressed and they suddenly realise it's just an eight year old lump of metal so they start trying to pick fault. Apologies guys...i'm not loving punters lately.
