In all honesty we would take it case by case, however i cannot think of an instance where someone has turned up and not liked the car.

Steve....all you have written is almost exactly as we do. We do not however keep any of the deposit if they turn up and don't like it for ANY reason.

Is 7-14 days currently working for you ? We all want the shortest time on deposit as it helps cash flow. 99% of my stock is MOT tested and Serviced and fully prepped ready to drive away which tends to speed things up. I would hold a car for a couple of weeks especially if the customer was buying something That had been sat for a while but would rather that was the exception than the norm. Have you tried asking for larger deposits ?

Ive had it for about 10 months now, in all seriousness if you use it as a guide to back up your own instinct and experience on the whole its worth having. since taking it on I wouldn't say I've sold more cars but I have changed what I'm stocking slightly, bought cars I would never have dreamed of stocking in the past and sold for a decent margin, kept on top of the prices and noticed I'm selling cars quicker. I used to have the old problem of cars sticking like glue to the pitch without even a sniff, takes a while to get into it but its not a bad little tool and saves me a lot of time
